I think an other good advice, when you know enough of a language to do it, is to look at the definition in the language, and not at the translation in your native tongue, when you don't know a word. There are some English words I wouldn't even be able to translate in French, but I just know what they mean and how they are used, and it's really a better way to learn words that are a bit specific to the language.

Greetings from Greece!
I discovered your channel a while ago and I find it brilliant!
I was a bilingual toddler, today I speak 5 languages and I never translate! It's more like having small warehouses in my brain, with each one containing one language! 🤣😂
Thank you for your amazing work!

Don’t forget to use an article when naming objects(countable nouns). This is my technique to learn French, which is also applicable to leaning English.

This is how I began to understand English. I just quit translating, but weather I see an unknown word, I ask a native speaker, or, if I can't talk to a native speaker, I use a translator. In my country people always say, 'Translate EVERYTHING you see'. This method doesn't work, as I proved

For me it's quite simple to think in a foreign language and it comes quite naturally. Maybe the reason is that we had to learn hundreds of phrases in English at school. For example we had to learn 50 different phrases how to say "Sorry, I didn't understand" or for "I don't know the answer" or for "Let me think" and so on. My challenge is rather to not mix up all the different languages. Sometimes I really speak German Franglish because I can't find the right word in the right language ... 😅

Thank you. I'll try it from now, I know it's hard because I'm fluent in Spanish and French and, sometimes, I translate with the Spanish but I'll try. I've improved my English in the pandemic (I've passed my B1 international exam) and I don't want to give up on improving more because English it's usefull.
