RESTING HEART RATE (RHR)

RHR is the number of times our heart beats every minute, to pump the blood during an inactive (rest) period. The lesser it beats, the healthier it is.
.
An average young office worker has 75-80 bpm RHR. Anything above 80 beats reflects poor heart health / unconditioned heart.
.
I, with years of training, have a RHR of 40 bpm. Some seasoned athletes have 32 bpm.
.
Regular exercise can make the heart more efficient and reduce the RHR with time.
.
PS: in the absence of a smart watch, you may use a heart rate monitor app or check your pulse upon waking up in the morning to know your resting heart rate.
