Hey Alan, I just wanted to thank you for making these videos. I'm not a bodybuilder, I'm just a guy working on getting in shape at 51. A lot of this stuff I've never done since high school, or never at all. So having you be so thorough and clear (and funny!) is a REAL help. Keep rocking the vids and thanks again.

2 years and a half after breaking both wrists, I want to give a try again at front Squats. To this day, 5 years after this video was done, it's still the best condensed video on Front Squats.

Huge front squat warm up tip: Rack an empty bar as if you're approaching a high bar back squat, then turn your elbows up in a a front squat rack position, it will prepare your body for the proper position, show your imbalances, and stretch your lats.

I watched this video maybe three years ago, through many squats sessions, front, back, hi-lo bar. It took me coming back to this video to understand that it was my upper back that needed to cue up. Also keeping your chin up and looking straightahead(like weightlifter) works very well for getting in position.

this guy is fucking amazing. There's so many videos online that help a little, and so many from people that just don't know what they are talking about. I've used his instructions to increase lifting power in my deadlifts, and back squats. now I'll use the instructions in this video. this guy is simply amazing.

Thank you so much for clearing this up! I will try these movements for the next time I front squat. I have been limited to 175 for comfortable front squat rep weight because of wrist pain. I hope to be able to get clean sets with 205 soon.
