Sadly you guys just had an "aviation expert" on yesterday and I've been a pilot the majority of my life. Your "expert" said airports needs lighting for aircraft directions... ok that already exists and has before I was born, every light has a specific meaning on procedures etc then your "expert" said there needs to be lighted signs to stop aircraft before entering the runway, again, already exists it's called the hold short line that is clearly marked and lighted. Your "expert" went on to say that aircraft need a path with lighting and signs to leave the runway and get to the terminal... guess what? Again already exists. Tower tells the aircraft which taxiway turn to take off the runway, it stops after exiting and swaps to ground, ground tells the aircraft which taxiways they are allowed to take as the ground controllers are watching ground operations. For example a ground controller could tell and aircraft to take taxiway Charlie, onto bravo cross echo and take a right on foxtrot to reach the terminal. Again this path also has green lighting on the taxiway to follow. Anyways think it's pretty silly the "news" had a "aviation expert" that didn't even know what he was talking about. Does he even have his PPL? if so I think a DPE needs to visit him real soon.
