It's Winter in New Jersey so I had limited options to mix concrete for my shower pan. Could this $8 bag do the trick? Watch and see!

PLEASE NOTE: The manufacturer of the concrete mixing bag went out of business and it's no longer available. Please let me know if you find a different source.

I was able to use a heavy duty contractor trash bag (not see through) at 3mils thick to mix a 50 lb bag of concrete. Worked great for me. I did a bit longer than 30 seconds mixing.

Thanks for using our products! That looks like a bit of a workout, but when outside water is frozen, you found a way to get it done. I just wait for warmer weather!

you could use only half amount and most likely wont have any dry spots, but that requires more work, measuring water and half of the

My mother in her 60`s literally poured a whole concrete slab for a large shed by pouring the dry bags onto the ground and spraying it with a hose until soaked. That shed still stands. No need to mix shit. I've made many yard items this way including a walkway. What's the big deal?

I saw another video of the same bag being used, and to be fair, you do have to toss it around for a few minutes to get a good mixing with the water.

Seen a couple of videos where they were using contractor heavy duty garbage bags they were much bigger and much easier to mix and probably cheaper than that bag anyway I really don't need the Velcro at the top just twist the bag

can you do the same with proper ready mixed concrete bags that just need water? Concrete has stones in it etc. Could the bag manage that?

Nice one... Didn't even know about that product.... Looks like you could have added some extra water in the bag or split the mixing into two bags to make it easier..

Great video! I have liked and subscribed. I am doing my own DIY concrete slab at the mo and made a video of mixing concrete in a bag as part of that and wanted to see how others did it. I mixed 36 20kg bags to make my 2 metres by 1.5 metres slab which is half of the overall which I will do in part 2. I bit of hard work but works well. I just used an old insulation bag :) cheap and cheerful :)

I would suggest putting some water in first to avoid dry pockets.

I know some are against pre-slope idea, but could you use this same S-Type mortar mix for the preslope as well as the top mortar bed?

Hey HandyDad, the type of mortar you used isn’t recommended for shower floors? Why did you use type S mortar?
