for the title news, here in france, the fact that they called it 'influencers' and not youtube channels, is because this is a non-issue on youtube, but is actually a plague on instagram. it's a very specific type of influencers that does these undeclared sponsors, influencers that went viral through tv-reality shows. And the average people following these has no idea on how monetization on internet works, and has no idea they keep watching ads all the time in instagram posts and stories.

Really do appreciate how much work you guys put into being up front and transparent about sponsorships and money flows. It's one of the reasons I watch you guys to begin with

Linus, you can use Firefox Multi-Account containers to use different accounts in same browser window, should even be possible to configure it to open videos as a personal account and studio as ltt one automagically.

I'm not, would you be suprised to find out that literally all politicians have a secret sponsor too?
I'd be great if they wore a shirt with all their sponsors like football players do.

I worked retail for 10yrs at target/gamestop, then worked in a factory making different colored inks for designs for paper products for a couple years, now I’ve been doing body work in a body shop on industrial type trucks for a few years.

I stopped making ink because my manager was toxic and upper management didn’t care. Body work is decent, it’s just really demotivating when you’re constantly fixing the majority of the trucks because it was missing welds or parts were welded on backwards or holes are being drilled in the spots.

And for anyone still reading this or just skipped to the end, I don’t have a dream job, I don’t have motivation, when I was a young teen I wanted to be an architect but not anymore.

I don't know if someone has mentioned it yet, but The Division games liked to use yellow or blue colored tarps or other fabric laying over a climbable ledge. In the sort of post-crisis abandoned and trashed cities, it wasn't immersion breaking. It was enough to catch your eye, while also just being "another piece of trash laying around" that they used enough for you to recognize the pattern.

43:38 There should be a segment next show quizzing Linus on videos with AI and non AI videos. Let’s see if he can really pick out the AI ones 🤣

In breath of the wild: There are chests in that room in the floor that are supposed to encourage you to use the magnet power to get them out of the ground. I think the intention is that you happen to also see the wall when you have the power on.

Agree on IPv6. At this point in my career, working in IT for over 20 years, I have still... _still..._ never actually configured a production IPv6 interface. I've left IPv6 running and generating addresses for itself. But not once have I ever been asked to enable IPv6 intentionally for anyone. Not internally, not for enterprise customers, not with the ISPs I've worked with. I don't even know if my local ISP offers IPv6 addresses to customers.

I blame that on two things: 1) It changed too much. It tried to solve every real and imaginable problem all at once. Including the "we might run out again" problem, which led to... 2) The addresses are long. Pretty sure everyone who sees an IPv6 address, especially when it's not in compacted form, just thinks to themselves... "what tf is that?"

Of course, "what I have already works" and "but then I need two IP stacks" is also an inertia that needs to be overcome, but I think it's mostly the first two.

In the UK it is completely mandatory to disclose sponsorships

On airline bereavement discounts, unless things have changed from the last time I looked, it isn't really a discount it is that you can book a ticket for the basic cost of the fare.

The idea is you can get a flight on short notice that is almost full for the same price as you would have paid months in advance.

After my grandmother passed, Air Canada needed the death certificate to be provided to them before they would book it despite the fact that it would take nearly a week to get it issued (due to a long weekend). Westjet had the same requiremnt, but rhe Westjet agent found me a flight with even cheaper fare.

They're not shopping at supermarkets, Luke
They're shopping at cash & carry wholesalers, and the price difference is staggering

I applied for a job at Booker, a British cash & carry chain, and just getting walked through the warehouse was incredible
Less than half of what you'd pay at the supermarket (Booker is owned by Tesco, a big British supermarket, so it was often the exact same product) and further discounts for bulk ordering

Didn't get the job, but man would it have been good to because workers got to buy stuff that was about to go out of date at even cheaper prices. Apparently you could get a whole Christmas dinner with a pile of trimmings for a tenner if you worked new year's eve or boxing day

"80% of Influencers Have Secret Sponsors" this is getting rampant with youtube shorts. theres so many shorts that are sponsored by babbel or others and the creator doesnt even tell you in the title or thumbnail, they only tell you its sponsored at the end of the short.
