My mother had a tenant not paying, she took the front door off, they left.Had a friend stuck with the same problem, I told him what my mother had done, he did the same thing and the tenants left.

This happened to my coworker who rented her house to provide for her 2 handicapped children. The squatters slashed her tires, broke everything inside the house, poured soil into the garbage disposal, and did so much damage that my coworker cried for days. It cost my coworker $90K to get rid of them in the end. Only in California where criminals have more freedom than taxpaying citizens.

The key words there was that she agreed to switch to cash only arrangement and leave AirBnB out of it, that was her mistake.

The moral of the story is. Don’t ever break contract and go solo. No matter how tempting it might seem you lose all your protection.

I got weirded out staying in a Airbnb. I didn't realize it is someone's home with people living in there. I didn't stay the entire time and checked into a hotel the next day.

This happened to my friend in the 80s, him and his brother and five guys with baseball bats drag them out of there in the middle of the night.

This happened to me in 2022 July/August. Trust me, it's worse than a nightmare. I had to hire a lawyer for $2000. The lesson I learnt is never to argue or engage in too much conversation with those kind of people.

If i were to be a tenant i would be scared to even touch a thing without asking for the owners permission. They're clearly very shameless
