Problem is, everyone wants to conquer the world, but no one wants to conquer their desire for it.

I went from a 40k factory job to a job in roofing sales in an area where there is a lot of hail. In 2.5 years I’m making 250k per year. It’s not wealth but I live in a low cost of living area so it feels pretty wealthy to me. Bought a rolex and a C8 corvette and I’m now working on branding myself since I have started putting the image in place.

As a man who chooses to help people (example: end of life provider) and work directly with patients who are dying there is no path to financial dominance, but the calling, depth, and need for this work is priceless.. for me personally.

I had to accept becoming the lessor man on the financial totem pole to pursue this area of work.

And yes, less opportunity for women as a result. So be it.

That said I still find great value in what Rich has brought to us men through his books and YouTube channel. Thank you Rich.

My neighbor was a diesel mechanic with no ged. Work for somebody most of his life and then he got wise and went and got a small business loan. Now he runs his own service truck and he has so much work that he has to turn it down. There are days that he makes a thousand to 1200. I think he builds for around $100 per hour. There are rough days where I have been out with him and I have watched him lay in Red dirt up under a piece of equipment. But he has nice things in his house is paid off. He has multiple brand new four-wheelers guns a new high country diesel truck truck. Him and a few others have opened my eyes to working for yourself and that being where the money is.

People working in STEM at top tech companies making 700-900k are very rare (way less than 1%), it is not the norm. If you go into STEM and apply yourself expect to work your way into the 100-200k range in Canada. Anything above that, you need to make it into upper management (director level and above, which is heavily predicated on the opportunity becoming available)

blending STEM and being an entrepreneur is great too. I am a video engineer but also run and own my own gear for live events in the corporate industry. I make in one day what some take a month or 2 to make on small set ups. The true line is, being paid for your time will limit your income. Being paid for your results and your income becomes limitless. We only have so much time in a day but your results can go beyond the moon.

I once ran a team that surveyed the Top 200 Wealthiest Individuals in Illinois. On that list were people like Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, etc. Of the Top 200, about 85% were either Investment Bankers or Financial Planners of some sort. This really shouldn't surprise anyone; You want money? Go into money management! Also, I should mention, the #1 car the wealthiest people chose to drive: A Nissan Altima.

Sales. If you want to make money fast, sales on high dollar … while you are selling learn the product and sell consulting after you master the product. High dollar allows for margins to pay you

Yacht broker here, high ticket sales is definitely the best one to get into if you have the personality for it. AI has made my job SO much easier in the last few years, from building listings, marketing, etc

Everything he said iit s correct, however I would add to work on your ability to be diplomatic, being able to work under a lot of pressure, and rapport building. From my humble experience the people I see thriving have ammassed a serious amount of confidence and they are overall quite calm. I think there is a specific psychological profile that gets to the top, it's not only about talent and expertise.

Rich, you forget stock market trading. I'm in both STEM and also trade the equity markets. I made a small fortune when the software company in which i had equity (and worked there) was acquired. I have been trading the markets since then and i must say, if you are a numbers guy and don't mind analyzing charts and numbers and businesses (love all of them), there is nothing like the stock market to make money. Now i'm training my 12 yr old to trade so that he doesn't have to work for a living. He can take risks and do whatever he wants to do now that he can make money spending a small amount of time trading. The key thing with stock market is that you must have a decent capital so that you need not take huge risks - small bets that have high probability of success is the way to win the markets.

As somebody who knows many rich people it’s pretty easy. If you want power as well: finance and law. If you want time as well: finance (difference part of finance to the other one), medicine, and tech.

Definitely STEM. I entered a career in cloud computing. Finance, fintech, e-commerce. Pays well. Lots of opportunities and remote work - travel. Always be hustling too, entrepreneurship. Keep well!

I have been a freelancer for 12 years. Difficult road. But paying off. Recently began making 6 figures. Not sure how it’ll be going into economic headwinds, but I always plan ahead. That’s how I bought a home making 5 figures. Saved. I don’t need a lot to enjoy my life. Now I own a nice home, and I have freedom bc of my work. Next challenge is laying groundwork for retirement. I’m not sure how well I’ll do, but I will try. My goal is to acquire another business in the next few years that is unrelated to freelance photography. I worked in a ton of industries prior, so I have a lot of cross-capability.

Stay sober, show up and work on time! Learn and be humble. Thank me later. You can always make money doing anything!

Entrepreneurship, for sure. You really have to think outside the limits of every business you're used to seeing or what you think you know about. The one I bought long ago, or the ones I've seen my friends operate from remote locations are things I knew nothing about but had to learn fast once I bought in or asked them about. Cast your net far and wide to get outside of your own ruts, it's a battle with yourself in some ways.
Plus, if you regularly talk with other entrepreneurs, they may know of new ideas that they have no time to follow up on.

School isn’t for everyone. There are also other jobs that pay very well. Amtrak vehicle operators, police or government officers, truck drivers & construction workers can also be great alternatives. If school is for you let’s not forget about flight captains or aviation mechanics. A 4 year pilot can top out at over 200k a year.
