I think being a therapist is a great career for people who have adhd, Because you get to give people advice while learning from yourself as well .

Corporate trainer is amazing for ADHD. You meet new people all the time, travel, and you can hyper focus on the subject and become a true expert

I’m a teacher and tbh it can be really messy for me with my ADHD symptoms. The best part is coming to work and seeing smiling faces and getting hugs. The kids are super sweet!

*Assuming this video was for inattentive*
I would say that short term memory issues and difficulty with organisation would make these jobs you recommend not perfect for someone with ADHD. I was a teacher for 10 years which was perfect for ADHD due to millions of short term deadlines and very high pressure every day. I needed to put a ton of strategies into place to do the job so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're prepared. IMO the perfect job would be some kind of consulting job where you are asked for your advice/input on something which involves problem solving and being creative, but you're always being asked about things which are an emergency/last minute and you're needing to help get a company out of a hole. That's where you would literally be a superhero and due to the fact it's an emergency and potentially a lost cause of someone else's doing you would be guilt-free because someone else would've created the mess.

im kinda shocked at the last one. wouldn't "being your own boss" be like a double edge sword where you could just get too lazy as well?

Meh. Doctor? You know how much school and studying is involved? I guess if meds work for you but no way I could do it. Being your own boss can be good as long as you have a secretary, house cleaner and other employees to keep you in check. I've learned that being a delivery driver is perfect but doesn't pay too well unless you're driving the big rigs.

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was in 3rd grade. I struggled with learning academics. However, what I lack in those I had no problem with the creative side. I am good in writing, painting, singing and even dancing. I am now 25 yrs old but I just realized recently what I've always wanted to become. I am currently pursuing a degree in arts majoring in communication arts. I think it was revealed to me a long time ago that communication is actually my gift and I just simply ignored it and took other paths where I failed. Film had always been a part of my life that is why I want to pursue career in Public Relations for the entertainment industry.

being your own boss when you can't do any time management, have a tendency to procrastinate and need external factors to motivate yourself? that seems like a bad idea

Welding ! I’m in school for welding, and I think hands on type of careers are great for folks with ADD and ADHD.

I worked in journalism for a short time and it was too stressful. There was the huge push to try and beat your competitors to be the first story published so you get the most views. The demand to get news out as quickly as possible was too draining. I think if I were a journalist before the age of the internet, or just working on interest pieces instead of breaking news, it would have been a better career. Now I'm teaching and aiming to be a private tutor in the future. I'm loving it so far.

I work as a shift supervisor in a production facility, lots of things to do and yoou can see your results as you advance through the day which is some nice instant gratification. Also having workers under me to finish the tasks that i start but get distracted and forget to finish is a big help for me
