Today we're looking at the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060. This 8GB graphics card is one of the lowest-cost launches of the year, so let's see how it does in 20 popular games.

I've also paired it with an old Xeon system to see if DLSS Frame Generation can improve performance, and I've got a few RTX 2060 comparisons to discuss.

You put more effort into this review than nvidia put in the entire 4000 series.

I'm actually very impressed by the new architecture.
Nvidia's GPUs get so much better with each generation that they'll soon have to reduce the memory bandwith to a few kilobytes if they want to keep on delivering about the same performance as the 2060.

It’s clear that the 4060 is a budget card, not being much of an improvement on the other 60 series cards, however if you look at the power draw, it’s the efficiency of this card which shines, it’s insanely good.

I just upgraded to a 4060 (and a whole new PC to boot). Coming from a Haswell-generation i7 that originally had a GTX 770, upgraded midlife to a GTX 1060. Only been playing with my 12th gen i7 and 4060 for a few days but i'm pleasantly impressed. Much faster then my old set up. I understand people being upset its not a substantial upgrade from the 3060, but who upgrades their GPU every cycle? Coming from an older card its fantastic.

Feel like Nvidia at this point is just trying to make rtx 4070 and 4070ti look better options at their price...

If you are a budget gamer and want a strong 1080p card, the RTX 4060 is actually a good card to choose. It has support for DLSS 3.0, including frame generation. The entire 40 series is overpriced for what you're getting, but the 4060 happens to be the one card that actually is VERY competitive in what it offers for a 1080p gamer, and be honest, that is most of us.

While the pricing of the 4000 series is ridiculous and rightfully despised, I like that Nvidia is once again treating power efficiency seriously. I wonder if there's any chance for 4050 to be a new 75 watt card, with some models without a power connector. It's about time for 1650 to receive a proper successor.

I have watched you since 5k subs... you never change, in terms of congeniality, calmness and polite presentation. I appreciate your channel! You and GreenhHamGaming are the real OGs...

It’s good to see how does the 4060 perform against the 2060 and I’m really surprised that the gap isn’t all that large.

One thing I haven't come across with other youtube tech channels is testing this card on a PCI-e gen 3 motherboard so I'd definitely be interested in seeing how this card with an x8 connection fares against a 3060 with a x16 connector. See if it makes a difference.

You'd think by now a mid range card would surpass a 2080 ti but here we are...

Happy that you’re getting companies sending over cards for review. Saves you the monetary fuss and provides everybody valuable information. Well deserved!

Just want to say the Skyrim test with unlocked frame rate is appreciated. It's a good way to know how much overhead there is for modding.

The problem I have with the 4060 is that it's effectively a 1080p card that offers frame rates that aren't required. While at the same time, being somewhat handicapped when it comes to higher resolutions due to the V-RAM limit. Making both the 4060 and 4060ti somewhat pointless. The 2060S can play most of the same games at 1080p High/Ultra with perfectly playable frame rates. The only downside with the regular 2060 is the 6GB of VRAM, but for just a little bit more, you get a good bump up in performance and 8GB of VRAM with the 2060S model. Which will play all of the games at 1080p that the 4060/4060ti can for a fraction of the price, still above 60fps.

For the price i would not recommend this card, since the RX 6700 XT and RTX 3060Ti are better and (in my country) the same price..
The Frame-Gen is nice for older PC's . I hope we will get a Frame-Gen in FSR 3.0 which will support also "older" GPU's aswell. :D

I would love to see a video comparing PCIe 3.0 vs 4.0 with the 4060

Loving the new format of multiple GPU comparisons, the content and production values just keep on getting better and better mate!! I think a little sideways chart/graph would be an excellent way to visualize the differences in framerates instead of the cold numbers. Kind of a show don't tell thing, people see more in one go as opposed to reading everything.
