I’m actually getting MAD now. – RTX 4060 Review

As Nvidia fills out its 40 series product stack, we’ve noticed one clear trend. DLSS and Frame-Gen are IN, and decent value, is out. This was apparent on the RTX 4060 Ti, and the RTX 4070. But does the song remain the same on the $299 RTX 4060? And will it be able to compete with AMD’s budget offerings of the RX 7600 and RX 6700XT? Will Intel Arc GPUs show up finally? Got to watch our latest LTT Labs-backed GPU review.

Corrections:
1:37 The 4060 Ti PCI-e Link is x8, not x16
2:25 The correct name for the card is the GTX 1660 Super
2:51 - This graph is mis-titled. The title should read "Overall Performance Relative to RTX 4060"

I appreciate Linus giving this card's review the level of effort it deserved

Currently running a GTX 1650 and I've never had an RTX card. Just purchased the RTX 4060 for $293 off Amazon... I guess if I had spent $350 on a RTX 3060 back when it launched, then the RTX 4060 would make 0 sense. However, I could argue that, buying a new generation card, every year and half also makes no sense. So what are we really talking about here? The issue is created by you guys... people with money that spend $500 a year, every year on a new card, that you don't need, just for 10 more FPS.

Then proceed to bitch that the generational performance increase isn't good enough. Then also compare TI versions to non-ti versions. I have had the GTX 1650 for 5 years and it's been an amazing card for $140. Yes, sometimes I had to turn the graphics down to medium. Poor people play on medium sometimes, that's normal. Even a budget gaming PC costs as much as buying 2 PS5... and all the new games are cross platform, so it makes no difference.

After I game for 5 or 6 years straight on this RTX 4060, I'll buy something else. Sure enough, it will be a massive improvement. Just like it always is, for me... The only way, for me to possibly be disappointed, is to spend $500-$600 a year on every new launch card and complain that it only out performs the previous card by 10 fps. That approach makes no logical sense at all.

RTX 4060 at launch is MRSP less than RTX 3060 at launch. RTX 4060 has outperformed every nerd graph I just watched in your video when compared to the non-ti 3060.

I actually love my 4060, i upgraded from a 1060 3gb. My old cpu was a fx8320, and i upgraded to an Amd 5 5600x. I love the combo, and my computer is super quick and reliable too.

Getting outraged may not do anything to change anything, but it sure as hell feels good to share with others in sometimes.

Bro, this multi-host video was amazing. Especially on a video with a lot of graphs and numbers. It was so good to have multiple readers.

That's a hell of a card for the low wattage. $300 banger right there. The question is whether the $50 extra is worth it for the 3060 ti.

I loved the swapping between hosts. Really interesting and keeps me invested

Someone give Adam a medal for this scriptwriting. Turning bad launches into melancholic staffs' relationship.

The swapping between hosts is awesome, and made this incredibly well-written review 1000% more engaging

Linus’s thumbnail face looks like when you ripped your favorite toy out of your nosy friends hands during a childhood play date.

If NVIDIA keeps this up it will destroy the industry. How is a spotty 13 year old supposed to build/buy himself a gaming pc for his hard earned pocket money when a GPU alone is going to set him back £800. A mediocre performing machine is costing you about £1200. If the buy in price for PC gaming is too high the industry will be stagnant and wont grow, younguns' will just stick with x-box and playstation that has a much lower bar to access.

The multi host approach really highlights it's not just one 'hot take' view.

It subtly gives the impression more people are upset at this.

The production quality in this video is actually amazing, I love having Linus in videos, he's a must for sure, but I love how much of the team was involved.

I haven't been following the evolution of price/performance GPUs closely, I only check it when I plan to upgrade my hardware. I must say I am a bit surprised to see so much hate for a card that performs similarly to a RTX 2080 for half the price and half the watts 4-5 years later. Maybe a problem of unrealistic expectations?

RTX 4060 is great for those with 400-450W Power Supply, it is really low on power consumption compared to equally fast GPU from older generations. While $300 might not be ideal, it will drop, anything new drops faster than old stuff ( that already dropped before).

The array of hosts in this video really felt like a united and collective frustration. I think it’s really important to showcase it as it is. We are collectively very frustrated, having one host would feel more like a single person expressing annoyance. This was really well done and I love the way LTT reviews are going.

The fact that the 3060 completely TIED with the 4060 in one of the tests, and was only between 1-5 frames behind on almost all the rest is MIND BLOWING considering they're a whole generation of GPU's apart

Edit: Some of y'all in the replies saying the 4060 is cheaper...Are you sure? 4060 is priced at $299, and you can grab a brand new 3060 for around $270-$280

Honestly I think Intel is going to become the king of GPUs in two generations. Just the massive amount of performance boost that 1st Gen Arc has seen through driver updates alone shows that they have tons of room to grow, and even as it is now the A750 is getting pretty close to this Nvidia clunker in many games. Despite being the Nvidia (read, resting on their laurels and cranking prices) of the CPU market for many years, their GPU team seem legitimately committed to shaking up the market with good, price friendly (at least relative to the competition) options.
