I agree on Twitter being probably the best platform for gamedev marketing, but I feel like there is also this problem that you'll get kinda stuck in a bubble with other game developers and have a hard time reaching out "real" gamers etc.
Also just wanted to add "ScreenToGif" for making gifs, it's also super convenient and allows you to edit the recorded gif a little bit (e.g. reduce frame rate to reduce the file size)

I've learned about and purchased games that where in reality pretty low quality as far as games go, all because the developer became popular through his solo marketing. It really works, and it works even better if your game is quality too. :)

Just kidding. Great video! We've been posting stuff on Twitter for a long time now, sometimes I feel it was too early in regard of the game's state of development. It's pleasant being reminded it does make sense :) so thank you! And keep up the good work!

I always tell new developers to share what they are working on no matter how bad you think it looks. For some it's more of a oh I want to show off my best so I won't share anything basic which is a mistake

You're not actually right about that nobody cares about your game and there's no shame. My first game was an interactive game book for android, and I presented it to the local community on Discord, where I was trolled, mocked and threatened with law suit even because the prototype had one of their own books in it. It's 30 year old work, and I was told the author could give rights for free, but lost taste for that after all I've read there. One of them even got to a local podcast to mock me for 2 hours. Really toxic community if you ask me, I was stunned to find out what sadistic bunch my players would of been. It is not that the game is bad. I was mocked because the game was flawlessly done compared to what Discord owner did upload in the past and in fact too good of a competition.
