Batman beyond talked about this. There was an episode where Bruce was hearing voices in his head. The voices called him "Bruce" . When he was talking to Batman beyond he said "the voices calling me Bruce but that is not the thing I call myself"
*edit*:I like everyone's comments under my comment

So that means, Bruce Wayne truly died with his parents that night

Of course Bruce Wayne doesn't exist. Bruce Wayne died in the alley with his parents. All that was left was a creature of the night, and a paragon of Justice.

Neither is the mask. Bruce needs Batman, but Batman also needs Bruce. When acting as one or the other, Batman sees himself as the one he is acting as. During that Lasso of Truth scene, he was acting as Batman, so saw himself as Batman. There have been stories of him abandoning the Bruce Wayne identity, and it makes him start to go insane and become more violent, ruthless, and isolated. Batman's morals and beliefs largely come from his parents, so if Bruce Wayne really died in that alley Batman wouldn't have the morals and beliefs that he does.

Wonder Woman: "Circumstances aside, it was kind of enjoyable to be a kid again."

Batman: "I haven't been a kid since I was eight years old."

Bruce himself has said he acts like a playboy in the public eye to help discourage the idea that he is Batman. His real self is Batman and what that represents: A man putting everything on the line to protect the innocent. Amanda Waller said it perfectly: "For all that fierce exterior, I've never met anyone who cared as deeply about his fellow man as Bruce Wayne."

as I recall Batman said "The kid died along with his parents".

Bruce Wayne is what gives Batman his moral center... Without Bruce Wayne, Batman would just be a more high tec Punisher.
I mean, isn't that exactly what the save files are? Just Batman with no Bruce Wayne?

This is one way to look at it
However, Bruce has recieved intense training to a point he can truly control his thoughts and his mind.
He did a similar thing when he meets Martian Manhunter in a cafe.

He tells the truth.
If you have a hero name or a villain name you are still the person you want to be.

"That's not what I call myself."

The reason he said batman is because he hypnotized himself

I never liked this interpretation of Batman because Batman was created as a form of vengeance, so it almost implies that Batman lost all of his compassion, which is why comics always make Batman so edgy and borderline punisher.

Playboy Bruce is definitely an act, but the child who still grieves for his parents is still there, it's the motivator for his vengeance and why hebstill breaks down about it (like the time he was tricked by Zatanna, iirc, to see his parents again, only for them to vanish right in front of him).
