Weird. To me the camera and microphone seemed better on the X than the 8 to my eyes an ears. And the speakers sounded better too so it was surprising to watch this and each point hear you say it was better on the 8. Guess people have different perceptions but maybe its because you have them in person and can sense a difference that isnt picked up through the video so well.

Windows 11 on surface pro x is awesome. I bought the pro x and it came with windows 10 which was truly annoying as many programs didn't work. With windows 11, it's an entirely different experience! I love it!

surface pro 8 really is faster. but for me I don't need all that power, if they can make a SQ2 WiFi only surface pro X at a price lower than the pro 8 it would be the perfect device for me. overall excellent vid BTW

I love my Surface Pro X (SQ 1 8gig) and it upgrades to Windows 11 no problem. It runs great and has fewer issues than Windows 10, including running x64 applications. As far as I am aware, only the Surface Pro X has built in GPS which is handy for a road warrior.

The one thing missing is the ability to run an x64 Linux virtual machine, which I can't really do on the ARM processor. Aside from that, the Surface Pro X is my go-to laptop when travelling.

I had the surface pro x running Windows 11 and upgraded to the i7 Surface Pro 8 with 16gb. The performance is night and day. I run dual 4k monitors am always on video calls and have slack running in the background. The X couldn't keep up. I love my pro 8, finally after much wasted money I have my do everything device.

Love my Surface Pro X. Slimmer, lighter, no fans and better battery. No software compatibility issues on Windows 11 too. Just don't trust Intel or AMD for consistently good battery. No way the Pro 8 beats Pro X with its ARM SOC for battery.

I have a base model Pro 6, and if I'm going to be honest I'm a but underwhelmed by the whole gimmick. Saw it for sale locally through marketplace, thought it would be an upgrade for me to do schoolwork on, make note-taking easier, maybe light emulation. But GOOD GOD I wish I had known how awful this keyboard was to type on for extended periods of time!! Every 3 sentences I'm having to hunt down my cursor and fix a word I just impregnated, battery life is complete garbage even on the type-cover, and no type-c is the hardest to deal with. Call me crazy, but my experience on a higher-end x360 chromebook was much smoother and more modern feeling! Maybe I just haven't felt out the machine and it's capabilities. Hope it gets better. Anyway, great video keep up the good work!

I feel like Windows ARM chips like the SQ2 are still in a "beta" phase and still not worth it. Maybe for super casual users yes but I will still not recommend it to anyone. ARM might be the future of the Surface line, but not yet. The Pro 8 is and feels much better in almost every aspect. The Pro X feels like a prototype and the Pro 8 the final product. Snapdragon chips need to evolve a lot if they wanna compete in the Windows space.

I disagree I feel like the microphone and camera looked and sounded better on the X surprisingly. The 8 colors were warmer but I preferred the cooler colors on the X camera

Windows on ARM (WOA) sucks at the moment as we wait for Qualcomm to get motivated. Sadly, MS are to blame, on two fronts, their slow WOA optimizations and apps, and also they did a deal where Qualcomm is only allowed to make WOA machines; monopolies are bad for consumers, and this is a case in point.

The Surface X Pro (SP X) is really a glorified, in price, Chromebook, really only suitable for light work, and it still seems to be behind the curve for the user especially if you have used the M1 MB Air. If you do not need pen support then a MB Air at under £900 is an easy choice over SP X. I see little advantages if you are an MS fan to buying the SP X over the SP 8 as I was underwhelmed by battery life which with M1 Macs seem to be far better. ARM is part of the future as were tablets and smartphones before it, and MS continues to be, not only late to the party, but also second rate at that. Lucky that they have the Windows pseudo monopoly and that their cash was invested in cloud resourcing as they have struggled to envisage the real tech waves in the last two decades.
