She was Fired becuase she publicly shamed a customer on social media over a tip they were not obligated to give

Servers and delivery drivers are not the only one's working hard. The customers ordering the food also have jobs and worked hard to get where they are at as well. Don't blame the customer to pay your wage, blame the employer for not paying their employees enough.

This is ludicrous. I only tip for full service restaurants. I don’t tip for takeout, buffets, or places where I have to stand in line to order, refill my own drinks, pack my own to go boxes, pick my own table, etc. I work hard for my money. Im definitely not entitled to the money I have to work hard for, neither should any server. I earn my money. I’m not your employer, I’m not responsible to make sure you pay your bills. If all you do is bring me my food that I’ve already paid for, I’m not going to tip unless it was delivered.

Tipping is toxic. It’s only in America and its related territories such Mexico and Canada. No one else in the world demands tips. Ask your boss to increase your salary not the customer

It's your job so you get paid. Why do you expect a tip for doing your job?

Every penny counts. Yes, that's why they didn't leave a tip

If you work in service business never ever called out or harass your customers in social media that's not gonna end well

When you accept the job you understand that tips are always optional, customers are not responsible for making sure you make enough.

No matter how hard you work. Remember, tip is optional for a customer. It's their call. You can't demand it. As you said your employer pays less, so there lies the problem, go fight for higher salary there. How is a customer responsible for you having a low paying job.

First off all, I worked at outback and they pay you for a lot more than $5 for takeout because your don’t working for tips. Also when you apply to Outback, they make you sign a contract stating that you should never talk about any customers or call them out on social media. She’s just petty and she’s a liar about how much she’s making. Nobody is gonna say that.

This lady is just inconsiderate. Tipping is just a cheap way for restaurants to pay they're workers less.

She is paid more as a take out clerk than a waitress. Additionally, defaming and publicly mocking a person or institution, can land @Outback into a legal claim for damages from the defamatory statements made by their staff. She needs to grow up and accept that no one…NO ONE…should be shamed into tipping much less tip for take out that the customer picked up. Great job to the church standing their grounds.

Complain to your masters about your breadcrumb pay, not the customers.

You don’t have to tip for takeout. Period. She is mad at the wrong person, the person underpaying her is the employer not the customer.

You do work hard.
..and you get paid.

I hate tipping culture

She has been working in that system for over 10 years?!? 10 years of guilt tripping customers?! Deserved to get fired then, find another job. I don’t care that you make minimum wage, clearly it’s been good for you these last 10 years, wtf.

Bruh. Self entitled people. Blame your employer not the customer.

She took time out of her day to do what? Her job?! Her job at that moment was to put food in bags. She wasn't refiling water/soda glasses, she wasn't checking up on anyone, she wasn't doing anything that would entitle her to a tip, regardless of the size of the order. Ridiculous to expect a tip for a take out order. If anything, the chef should be tipped for it.

"I am a hard worker. I prepared everything myself." Cool, and the customers forced you to? The customers forced you to take that job in the first place? No? Then what is the problem? YOU SIMPLY DID YOUR JOB! You are already getting payed for that BY YOUR EMPLOYER! If that is not enough then PICK ANOTHER JOB but do not DARE to harass people who you do not even know to give your free stuff! This is not how reality works!
They literally HELPED the business by a gigantic order and you have the audacity to expect them to give FREE money just because you(a completely random person who they do not even know) said so?
They are NOT your boss! They do not owe you ANYTHING. Or you just want customers to not order at all so the business can go broke and you would not get paid AT ALL because you would loose your job?
The audacity.
