Many servers dislike 'tipping is not necessary' model

Restaurants are beginning to pay their servers hourly wages instead of having them rely on tips. 22News found that this idea is not liked by every one.

Man I’ve been a server at restaurant. Worked at a car wash with tips. SOO MANY TIMES I AINT GET TIPPED. But I
Never cared. I’m here do my job and do it at a high level. If I get a tip great i appreciate it. If not it’s fine. Blows my mind people think they obligated to get a tip. NOOO. YOU chose to do this job. That’s the trade off of it. Ion tip, unless I get stellar service. But even as a server, I never bitched or complain. When I did I was grateful n moved on. When I didn’t I kept the same energy. Self entitled mfs

If your job is to serve food to a group of people, you should expect to make your wage, you should not feel inclined to a tip.

If the server does not like her hourly rate, talk to the boss. If you feel you are due a 3-5 dollar tip for 5 minutes of walking you are insane. If you get a 3-5 dollar tip every 5 minutes heck even 10 minutes you get 30 - 60 bucks an hour for walking a glass or plate to my table. How about this. I will collect my own food and beverage and you give me a discount on the food, the cleaner I return the plate the bigger my discount. 25% sounds fair doesn't it. Tipping is stupid.

So they complain about how they need tips because they get paid minimum wage but when they do get properly paid they still complain

just wondering, how does a customer know if the waitress is the person who is making 13 dollars an hour /minimum wage?
