Arkansas Server Fired After $4,400 Tip Dispute

An Arkansas server says she was fired after getting a $4,000 tip from a generous table but the restaurant is disputing her claim. NBC News’ Maura Barrett reports.

The restaurant owner's behavior regarding to the waitresses firing was utterly disgusting. It was obviously clear that the owners wanted a piece of that tip money. If the owners of the restaurant wanted the waitress to keep the money then they should not have made a big deal about it.

The fact that they fired her over this during covid and literally two weeks before Christmas speaks volumes. I hope they enjoy the PR hit this probably took to their business.

This happens all the time...In my town a waitress had her car stolen some of the customers tip her $3000 to buy a car, she was a single mom with 2 children. The owner wanted the tip and when she said no she was fired. Once the news got out on what the greedy restaurant owner did the nearby restaurant hired her with better wages, the greedy restaurant owner lost much business and put out that they were following tips guidelines. greedy...!!!

The waitress was not technically fired for wanting to keep the tip, she was fired for disclosing to the tippers that the restaurant was taking 80% of their money.
