Primarily we should remember; it’s less “know the right people” and more “the right people know you”. Phrasing it from that perspective emphasizes that valuable connections are earned.

And while ANYBODY can “know” those in charge, only a select few are “known” by the RIGHT people. And I believe that’s worthy of some praise; as opposed to the scorn the board receives.
