So much trouble just to drink milk from another animal. Just drink plant based milks.

Raw milk also contains: sat fats, trans fats, estrogen, puss, blood and cholesterol....yummy!!!

Besides that it's gross and unethical, raw mammal milk - particularly cow milk, can also contain for example Salmonella...

I wouldn't drink milk or eat anything from an animal as I wouldn't lick my cats bowl

I think the dairy industry has something to do with this. Her words are very scientific. Well my lady...I haven't had anything dairy for 35 yrs. Lactose intolerance can't be fixed with dairy. 🥴

From my understanding of it, what she says is untrue. The history of dairy is really interesting. Most beings (humans included) have a gene that allows them to digest milk in their infancy. However, they are eventually weaned off of milk as they grow into adulthood and that gene gets shut down. And then they can no longer digest lactose. For some humans, they have a mutation where that gene never shuts down, and they can digest lactose well into adulthood. This is especially prevalent in Nordic regions where growing food is difficult. So the peoples of these regions supplemented their agricultural diet with the milk of cows, sheep, and goats. This is why some people are lactose intolerant and others can digest it perfectly fine.

Yes. The question is not "Can we?" but, "Should we?"

Some people will just never be weaned off the nipple.

I drank a lot of raw milk as a child and was plagued with ear infections and tonsillitis

Here in South Africa, we consume a gluttonous amount of meat and dairy. It is so ingrained in our culture, from traditional black culture to white cultures like the Afrikaner community. We love to "braai" or BBQ (red meat esp). You will often find even the tiniest of apartments have an outdoor built in braai or have braai facilities on the premises. If you dont eat meat, youre looked at like you just got off the mothership! Things have gotten better over the years in terms of plant based alternatives but its still very much limited to the major cities and in more affluent neighborhoods.

We have an outbreak of swine flu in SA at the moment. I am just glad that our government doesnt play around with raw dairy, or im sure we would see an uptick in bovine TB (and we already have a prevalence of TB outbreaks in the poor areas of SA).
