The deafening silence at the dinner table (rarely ate there because he wanted to watch tv and eat). He used to leave little notes in my windshield wiper before we got married. After we got married, he doesn’t ever remember doing that.

Mine would post publically on HIS Facebook but never say it to my face. Promotions, 2 degrees, birthdays, huge over the top paragraphs on Facebook stating praise and pride, but never to me, in person. Behind closed doors it was just another day. Or if we did go out to dinner to celebrate it was on my bill.

Compliments were slim to none. He would say things like, your hair is getting long, but never said it was pretty. You do look like you lost a little weight. I would get dressed up for special occasions, never tell me I looked nice. I worked hard acquired an operators license and received job promotion. Nothing. Never surprised me either no gift for my bday, Christmas and he never really made big deal about our wedding anniversary. I get it now.

I’m grateful for all your videos it has helped me tremendously. My adopted mother is a covert narcissists which is my biological mother’s sister. As a little girl I knew there things off about her I didn’t know what it was, as an adult I have attracted people friends and boyfriends who are just like her. I cut off those people and started my journey to healing.
