2021/04, Italy, Trieste Napoleonica & Doberdò del Lago

Testing the Revo. Scary but it does work.

System:
Unmodded Wild Country Revo, Edelrid Boa 9.8 mm (yellow), then Beal Stinger III 9.4 mm Unicore Dry Cover (green).
DMM Ceros.
Petzl Oxan Triact-Lock ANSI Z359.12 for the main anchor and the second bolt, 8 mm maillon for the backup anchor (knot against maillon).

True resolution is 1080p: I rendered at 1440p to force YouTube to use VP9 which is essential for videos with lot of movement; blame YouTube.

Thanks for the tests, very interesting. I use the Revo too for lead rope solo. I was wondering what the green band around the wheel of the Revo is. I don't recognize it

Great testing! I have a question for you...I see you are just using the first bolt as the lead rope anchor. Do you have anything else attached or is that your only anchor point? I'm thinking to LRS myself. Thanks in advance.

Ciao Andrea. Does it work if you are climbing a roof or an overhang?

As a main device the Revo is too variable for me. I hear people saying the time it takes to bite can vary greatly. That being said, I'm looking for a backup solution as I hate to use backup knots... The Revo seems like a good candidate. Now I'm wondering if the Revo can also handle the cache loop at the same time. From videos online (like this one) its hard to see how exactly the "brake" behaves. Lets say you've braked to side B, what happens to the brake when you pull rope from side A? Does the device disengage completely? It would be really great to use it as a backstop for side B (slack rope going to the ground) but allows pulling on side A (feeding the cache loop) and when your main device fails and you fall too quickly (essentially pulling on side A like crazy) that the device then locks up for that direction. But I'm not sure if it works like that.

It must be scary at the first two bolts. Possible risk of groundfall?
