Also, as brake pads wear the fluid levels go down. That's why if you top off on brake pads that need to be replaced, then replace the pads, the resivor will be overflowing.

Good tip I use this test all the time. Some cars have an auxiliary vacuum assist pump that is driven by your cars engine. Engine oil can leak through a defective pump and travel from the vacuum line to the booster, thus filling the booster with engine oil instead of brake fluid.

I have a leak that I can't find.

He found the backup brake fluid reservoir.

The brake fluid goes down as the brake pads wear. When you change your pads if you don't open the bleeder screws, remove the master cylinder cover and compress the brake cylinders your fluid will go back up.

As you brake pads go down the tested move further into the caliper and of course the fluid fills up the space

This is helpful but how exactly do you check your blinker fluid?😂😂😂

So if you have a leak just like you found, do you have a video on how to fix that? Or what the issue is to make it do this?

Fuck, wish I knew this yesterday but still very helpful. The man invented his own brake fluid dipstick

I took my vacuum booster off my 97 f350 7.3 powerstroke permanently and my brakes are much better. It was a bit of work to install 97 f series (replaced by f450) hydro booster and master cylinder and the pedal from 94 f series as the booster attatches in different location

So possibly a bad master cylinder gasket?

I wished I would have known about this... I replace the brake line from the main joint all the way back to the back main joint
