Heres my theory. It starts off with sam creating a show that revolves around his daughter, unexpectedly it grows super popular and gains the attention of many kids and/or companies. Kate (The aunt) recognizes the show as a good show for kids so she starts sharing it, but then hameln (the company) starts to try and get a hold of it. So they make an offer to turn it into a cartoon, but really its some sort of scheme. I believe its sort of like what they did with siri. They had the VA record a bunch of words so they could splice them together and have the ai create sentences. I believe they were trying to get the show to never end and make money off of it. Sam realizes this and knows something is up (hence why he was ready to leave with rebecca) so, hemln gets rid of him but makes it seem like he went missing. While that is happening they start to try and manipulate rebecca into signing some contract, basically signing off her rights/the shows rights to them. Then they turn the show into a cartoon. I assume they killed rebecca or somehow put her soul into the show. Which also means her body is out there. Sometimes she can feel herself rotting, but one things for sure. Shes out there..somewhere.

EDIT: A little side note to the readers, i may be wrong about one detail. Does anyone notice how amanda gets sad about Kate often times? Im thinking maybe shes not against amanda but trying to help her somehow. After all amanda is just a kid. It could be a stretch but notice how Amanda is sending her letters and how sad she gets about her not being able to send it anymore. I dont think the letters were for wooly's birthday.

I can back up this theory (of 2 different Wooly's)

In the start scene when you first play the game it clearly says "and her little sheep Wooly" (or something like that) but if you unlock the secret tape it then forces you to type Woolie.

Fun fact, so in one of the episodes, it shows a mom and her kid was watching Amanda de Inventure and it was her birthday and try to leave but she keep on watching, and when the mom and dad looked back in the living room she wasn’ t in the living room.
