As horrific a concept as it is, I just can't help but chuckle at the idea of a demon puppeting a child's soul becoming increasingly frustrated that its' next victim doesn't know where famous landmarks are.

"No, it's... The Eifel Tower is clearly in Paris, mortal skinsack. It's not like I asked which ring the Boiling Cauldron of Souls is in, please I have so little do."

I still think that Rebeca is dead, especially because she says "I can feel myself rotting, somewhere..." in the first game, and the amount that it points at something buried somewhere in the woods, and a fun fact, Opossums eat dead carcasses, and if she can feel herself rotting... You know what I'm trying to say

The possum is also a spoof of Swiper the Fox from Dora the Explorer. Swiper would always try to swipe things from Dora and she would have to say "Swiper no swiping" to get him to go away.

Did anyone else feel bad when Amanda threw a fit over the possum taking her coins? Like, she absolutely knows that the trip isn't real, it's make-believe, but she seems so devastated she can't go.

I think we're really seeing *just* Rebecca there, the one trapped in a show she can't leave, and she wants to leave and see the world.

Idk man it just hurt my feels

There’s such a cruelty in having Amanda ride the train around her living room. The show couldn’t even be bothered to make fake settings with wallpaper for her, which many children’s shows do for special travel episodes. When Jay was playing the game he made a joke about how Amanda the ‘adventurer’ never actually went anywhere, just some stores and a park, and it feels like Hamelin is laughing at her too

Did y’all notice that whenever she says “all the places I could’ve go-“ it cuts to say “all the places WE can go” it doesn’t happen once but other times too.

I think this is the first time in a piece of horror media that the child that gets Possessed by the demon actually acts believably like a child. They throw tantrums and hissy fits when they don’t get their way sometimes. Especially kids with trauma like Rebecca likely would have, since it’s stated she was adopted, she likely either lost her parents or was taken from them due to abuse. And then losing Sam, that kind of stuff would make any kid act out.

When she says, "I love to daydream about all the places I could have gone -" She means she likes imaging about the places she could have gone to when she was still alive and well 😕

I love how the entity gets more and more ticked off at Riley the more incompentant we make Riley act

Amanda is a lot more snarky without Wooly monitoring her.

A friend got confused over the Possum until i pointed out the two facedness of Hamlin. The Possum basically represents the company's slyness over the disappearance of Sam.

I’m still holding onto Hope that woolly is still alive, Amanda says that if we can find him.

I get the feeling that Amanda and Riley now know each other—Amanda seems a lot more casual towards Riley, making more personal statements and insults. She’s also not totally free, because when she tries to say “I wish I could have seen the world/all the places I could have gone” it’s changed to “I can’t wait to see the world.” She knows this too, otherwise she wouldn’t have given Riley the second tape.
The opossum represents SOMETHING, maybe the demon or Wooly’s attempts to return since he’s gone. Maybe the rotting.
Actually, ever since Wooly disappeared, Amanda seems to have a tiny bit more freedom than before and is showing her truer personality quirks in her answers to the questions.
She wishes she could still visit Kate. She briefly remembers Sam. She seems peeved mentioning Rebecca. She’s dispatched Wooly. The butcher brings back bad memories.
The isle of dead dolls is there for a reason. Maybe she wants a chance to escape the entity, even temporarily.
Based on that it almost seems like Amanda wants answers as much as we do. And whatever’s making the tapes, it isn’t her, since she seems dictated by them. It’s like she partially exists in reality, and then in another world at the same time.

What if woolly/sam was protecting her as much as he could from Hamlin inside the tapes and now that he’s gone, that’s why the possum/hamlin can go after her. Sam as woolly was trying to protect her and us. When she got rid of him, it left everyone in danger. That’s why the possum is able to attack her now, her protector is gone. That also parallels with before they got stuck in the tapes too. Sam was being a good father and being protective of Rebecca when things were looking bad, and so Hamlin did something to him so that they could get control of Rebecca.

Swiper's uncle really fell off ever since the cartel opened shop here.

What I noticed just now is that every time we See amanda on her bed, she wears a different outfit. I think this means that every episode of the second game will end with amanda going to bed and talking with riley about the adventure they just had.

4:50 if y'all don't get it why did Amanda cry about the Butcher

It's because in the 1st game where we were selected to go to the candy shop to pick a special treat, but instead the game keeps forcing us to.pick the butcher every time while Amanda keeps screaming saying she doesn't go there.

Eventually she went to the butcher with a sad face and said "There's nothing here that I want" ..."I want to give my friend a special treat"

Amanda became angry again saying "GET ME OUT HER-

And destroying all the stores

Holy cow! Thanks for the likes! ❤
I wonder if the first tape symbolizes Samuel wanting to take Rebecca out of town/country to escape Hemln's control? Maybe the possum attacking Amanda before she goes on the "trip" represents Hemln successfully trying to stop Sam and Rebecca leaving?

But there is also selling the rooster part. Maybe Hamln promised Rebecca something she wanted so desperately (a special trip, fame etc.) but told her that in order to do that she needed to sign some papers or something that would prevent Samuel from interfering with the company's plans. So she could possibly push her father away despite him genuinely supporting and loving her.

In one of the colored tapes there is a news report about Sam's disappearance. The official version is that he abandoned both his daughter and the show. Maybe Sam wanted to take Rebecca out of town/country so that Hamln doesn't hurt her, told her that they were going on a special trip (of course Rebecca wouldn't understand the real reason for the "special trip"), but was killed before they could go. Since Hamln found out about Sam's plan to flee, they possibly manipulated Rebecca so she believes that Sam left on the trip without her. Then it makes sense for Amanda to sell the rooster. She was probably angry at Sam because she thought that he abandoned her. It also makes sense for her to sign some papers as she does in one of the colored tapes. Hamln probably promised her a bunch of stuff and since she thought that nobody else cared for her, not even her own dad, she signed the papers that probably allowed the company to become her caregivers. I may be forgetting something. There will be edits for this edit.

Alright, here's the edit. Maybe Rebecca wasn't angry at Sam. Perhaps she was just upset about not knowing who to believe. On the one hand Hamln kept telling everyone, including her that Sam abandoned her but probably promised her some things On the other hand she still loved her father and probably couldn't believe that he would so something like that but he obviously wasn't around to protect her. In the end she didn't really have a choice but to sign herself over to Hamln despite maybe still loving and trusting her father.

Another theory. Like I said previously she could believe the company's lies and think that nobody else cared for her. But what if she was angry at him at the start? What if when all of the painful procedures started to take place (we saw something that looked like a lamp in an operating room at the beginning of the first tape in the demo for the second game) she began wishing she could leave with Sam, began trusting him again but it was too late?

What she said about the owner of the Isle of Dead Dolls hanging up dolls to keep demons away is so interesting. She sounds almost hopeful about it, and then we zoom out and see Gretchen, who’s not quite hung but left limp in the stand. Is Amanda trying to keep the demon possessing her at bay, or is she scared of a different demon and trying to repel it? Maybe wooly?
