I just realized, the company is called Hameln, which is the name of a place in Germany that has a story of a mouse catcher that eventually kidnaps the children of the village. That is such a cool easter egg!

I think it’s important to note that in Hameln’s response to Sam’s disappearance, they refer to it as “abandonment” as if they’re trying to push the idea that Sam LEFT, rather than was taken.

20:25 If you notice, you've become one of the pieces of meat hanging from the wall. This could imply that all the background characters that move and have eyes are other victims trapped in the tapes.

Honestly, after seeing the story of this game, I actually realize that this game is an allegory for the dark side of children’s entertainment as Amanda the adventure used to be a beloved show on public access made by an honest man who was inspired by his adopted daughter and her joyful imaginative personality but later ends up making getting approached by the wrong people who ends up ruining his and his daughter’s lives with demonic influences, which, as a result causes his “disappearance” and his daughter being used as nothing more than a component for a ritual and it’s honestly heartbreaking to see

So, I think I just realized why Amanda said that mommies and daddies aren't always right. It's because Sam took her to Hamlen, and is now trapped in the tape, and she blames Sam for this fate.

One thing you missed when Amanda says "I'm out there somewhere" Look closely when the screen flashes to red you do see the demon BUT you also see a human person banging on the screen trying to escape. I believe that's Rebecca trying to get out.

32:45 I am sad that nobody saw that yes Wooly and Amanda were shocked by that but also the house who breathed heavily stopped breathing and turn around to loom DIRECTLY at us just like it knows something

Idk if anyone else mentioned this, but my theory is that another reason Amanda might not be too keen on Wooly is because, as he's a parental figure, Amanda might have believed Hameln saying that her dad abandoned her, so it could be her taking out her abandonment issues onto poor Wooly.

One thing I like about the game is the use of VHS tapes. Rather than just having VHS filtered cut scenes, you actually have to WATCH them AND look out for smaller details that affect your playthrough, as you go along!

It might just be me but everything leads to Rebecca having been beheaded.
When you mention Sam, Amanda recognises the name, hinting at the fact she still has some sort of memory of being Rebecca. When she is sent into the butcher shop she seems terrified. If we believe she has small memories of being Rebecca, then we can assume that something traumatic must have happened at the shop.
Also, the Blabberbot's head pops off when you pour water on it, and the Doll's head must be cut off. The Doll also has a very similar voice to Rebecca
There are also many subtle hints - when the tapes glitch, Amanda's head is usually separated from her body.
Amanda also cuts Wooly's head off during the surgery scene.

Possibly, Hameln sacrificed Rebecca's body to the entity by beheading her. The entity also seems to have only Amanda's head, as we can tell by the hair. Her soul could be stuck in the show whilst her body is dead, which could work as she said she believes she is 'slowly rotting'.

I don't think Wooly and Amanda have completely lost their memories as Amanda and Wooly were utterly shocked when you called the rooster "Sam" & right after, Amanda tries to ask how you know that name before the tape cuts off (presumably by the demon).

I think the biggest tip of Hamelin's evil intentions are their name, logo (a rat) and catchphrase ("Follow us to fun!"):
"Hamelin" clearly stands for the children fable, Pied Piper of Hamelin, in which a piper played a music to drive out rats from a town in exchange for a reward, when denied, he played a music to drive the children out, never to be seen again. So besides the demonic relation, is possible they are using Amanda's videos to take children who watch it for whatever evil purposes they have in mind.

I doubt rebeca is dead. From everything I’ve seen it would make more sense that her body is somewhere but her mind is in the tapes. Since most demons need hosts to manifest. So I feel shes somewhere in Hamlen asleep or frozen or something. Which is why she says she feels herself rotting.
Edit: Thanks for the likes!

I think the way Hamelin used & sacrificed Rebecca made her feel like just *meat*, especially after she was killed & that’s what the butcher shop represents. Also why she refers to herself as “rotting” & why she says she’s “somewhere.” She can ~feel~ her body some where “far away, ” rotting like old meat. 😬💔

something interesting to add is that if you pay attention you'll notice that the tv was never plugged in and remains that way throughout the game.

Also can we sit back and appreciate how intelligent the writing is about Aunt Kate? Like making her a librarian was a really smart choice.
Librarians need a masters degree for their job and are insanely good at research. They know all the ways to use any database and some are so skilled they're trained to handle older books and archieve them. Linrarians also are very interconnected and work together frequently to mail, gather and barter for books. They have this huge network of people and books at their fingertips, meaning that Aunt Kate had resources, contacts and knowledge to gather everything.

Can we take a moment to appreciate an indie horror game based on children's media where the parent doesn't hate their child or abuse them? Super here for how loving Sam was to Rebecca and looking out for her wellbeing until the end.

That being said. Notice the lonely kitten motif? And being abandoned and alone. And Hameln statement stating Sam*abandoned* Rebecca and the show. They probably convinced her he left her on purpose and used that trauma and emotional turmoil to complete the process started by the voice recordings

You have to wonder about Rebecca’s life before Sam. He said she’d gone through a lot, but doesn’t elaborate. Then in the farm episode, Amanda mentions some mommies eat their babies. Could Rebecca’s biological mom have murdered Rebecca’s sibling? Or been particularly abusive?

Her voice getting clearer in the normal ending was creepier than the jumpscare

I believe wooly is the villain. Maybe not a full villain but a product hamlen created to keep Amanda actively focused on the task at hand which is be a tv character. Several times when she’s steers off SCRIPT he tries to redirect her to stay on track with the story. When he ran to the screen to “warn “ us he basically was trying to tell us don’t antagonize her, meaning don’t say anything that can make her realize where she is . I don’t believe he’s all good, the way people think he is.
