Virology Lectures 2023 #6: Synthesis of RNA from RNA

Because host cells have no enzyme that can replicate viral RNA or make mRNA, the genomes of RNA viruses must encode an RNA polymerase. In this lecture we discuss the principles and mechanisms of RNA synthesis by RNA dependent RNA polymerases, including priming of RNA synthesis, how mRNA and genomes are produced in infected cells, and the switch from synthesis of mRNAs to genomes. Out subjects are negative strand RNA viruses, positive strand RNA viruses, and double-stranded RNA viruses.

I am confused. How can + rna strands have no rna dependent polymerase when they must copy the + rna to -rna to make more +rna? what enzyme catalyzes the synthesis of positive RNA to negative RNA. Sorry but this doesnt make sense!! To make RNA to RNA you need RNA dependent RNA polymerases!!
