Virus infections of the host can be categorized into two general patterns: acute and persistent. Acute infections are characterized by rapid onset of virus reproduction, and a defined but potentially severe course of disease followed by resolution. In this lecture we define the properties of acute infections, and illustrate them with five examples: influenza virus, poliovirus, measles virus, norovirus, and West Nile virus.

Professor says challenge study is unethical because we don't know all the risks of the virus infection.
But that same argument would make every phase 1 clinical trial also unethical right?
So because clinical trials are ethical so must be challenge studies.
