I'm glad he recognizes the passion of his audience.
Edit: look how many of these mofos just love training to the point where taking time off or shortening sessions is a bad thing!

It's a very humbling experience compared to lifting weights. Lifting weights is like hyperspeed in terms of progression rate compared to calisthenics, I've been doing bodyweight pull ups, push ups, dips, etc... I haven't added any extra weight (though I really want to) in literally 10 months... I've just been using stricter form to increase intensity. So I'm probably like 8 years away from adding 20 kilos lol

I started doing 100 pullups a day. Now, it's been 1-1.5 months. I am suffering from golfer's elbow. That's why don't do repetitive exercises every day. Your tendons take much longer time to adapt and recover than your muscles. Stay hard.

I cant believe he described my exact situation. I tried progressing from 20 kg to 30 kg too fast and immediately felt pain in my inner elbow. Really great advice listen to him guys.

Finally, I see everyone talking about progressive overload but man most people really need to better their technique and wait for the weight going up naturally with time and consistency.

Yeap, current nursing 3 tendon injuries. Not much fun.

This is gold. Information noted and will implement at next session.

Technique, technique, technique…Don’t forget about the technique.

Rock climbing is my main sport and I have experienced enough injuries to understand how long it takes to get back up to form. Over the past year, I’ve been dealing with a left shoulder injury and right ring finger injury which took many months to heal.

While injured, I spent my time exploring other ways to improve my health and fitness. I reignited my old flame cycling. I learned weight lifting, mobility, and now getting into calisthenics.

I prefer to avoid getting injured like that again. I’ve developed my own workout routine that would benefit all my sports. It’s a continuous “work in progress”

I came across this channel and found the information very useful. I still try everything out for myself to see if it works for my goals.

Thank you for making these videos.

Small, incremental progress goes way further.

I never was able to 1 pull up, yeh seriously 1 full range pull up. I overtrained way to much. Now I’ve reached 8 pull ups in 1 set but it’s taken me 6 months training pull ups once a week. Yeh maybe I could have gotten more work done but i am really happy with the progress.

Totally agree about pausing the bottom of each pull-up! Took me years before I started doing this, but after making the change I've had fewer injuries and better strength gains, likely due to the extra work in the stretch position.

Being a motard will hurt you sooner or later. I’m going to start pausing at the bottom of my pull-ups.

Thank you so much for this, I really needed it

I have taken a lot of time to heal my tendons, because sometimes it hurt, but I felt like something was wrong with me

I began stretching more and whatnot, but when I looked at gym videos, they talked about taking days off as if it was bad

I found peace in going at my own pace, but hearing somebody says this, reassures me

This is so true, it’s so hard to hold back on weights when you are feeling like a titan but it is super important to avoid injuries.

I've had to be very slow and progressive with my pullups. The tendons in my left shoulder have been particularly weak but I've seen real progress without injury because of my patience.

I wish I had seen this month ago before my elbows started to snap everytime i do pullups because of heavy "ballistic" pullups i did before.

This guy always impresses me. Being able to pull up your own weight several times is very important.
