Why Mario Will NEVER Be In Fortnite

Its about console exclusivity. They actually had talks about putting Samus into fortnite but refused because Epic wouldnt make it console exclusive.

Yeah you hit the nail right on the head. I'm currently studying Intellectual Property and Brands for law school and the trademark part of the class made it pretty obvious about how valuable not having the violence and overindulgence of Fortnite is. Kit Ellis said it best that the Nintendo characters would not be unique and thus go against the name and the brand. The Disney tie-in was the highlight for me because it is the same concept.

Ignoring Mario holding a gun, Mario would have to make adjustments to their body proportions to fit over the skin’s sizes. It would be off putting to stretch out Mario.

Mario could easily show up in fortnite but not battle royale,

he already has a partnership with LEGO, so showing up in LEGO Fortnite is possible

I don't think it has to do with identity, but rather exclusivity. Fortnite was actually originally going to add Samus. But Nintendo wanted Samus to ONLY be on the Nintendo Switch version. Like literally. Not only would you not be able to buy Samus on a Ps4, Xbox, PC, etc. But if you're friend was wearing Samus, you WOULDN'T EVEN SEE the skin if you weren't on Switch. You would just see your friend wearing the default skin as a placeholder. Epic didn't want to make a platform exclusive skin that was THAT exclusive. So they changed their mind and dropped Samus.

It's not Mario Holding a gun that stops him from appearing it's nintendo having a stick up their ass and thinking their skins should be switch-Nintendo console restricted which takes away the point of in game cosmetics to begin with X_X

The Reason why they didn't do it is that their characters would be available on other plattforms.
Samus would be in Fortnite if Epic had agreed that the skin would be exclusive to the Switch, i.e., only visible and usable on it.

Nintendo just want their skins to be on only the games that are played on switch and not elsewhere like rocket league with the mario luigi cars back in 2018. I hope they do samus at least

Which is why Epic didn’t go with Mario, the went with Samus but Nintendo only wanted Samus to be available exclusively to Nintendo Switch players. And I mean exclusively, only Nintendo Switch players could buy her and see her in gameplay, anyone else who isn’t playing on Nintendo Switch will not see Samus, they’ll see a default skin

Some of you may think this is far fetched but keep in mind Nintendo banned Australian streamers for playing the new Zelda game before other countries not realising that time zones exist…
