I really like to hear this Cesar, because is so sad here in Spain there are tons of fantastic realistic painters and literally none of them was on our art fair ARCO last year, and it's so dissapointing

There is no question of pursuing realism today, but the real problem is there are so many artists does not have content in their work and does not take further than Sargent generation. They are still living in the past.

Cesar, the pioneers who have restored representational art are, max Ginsberg, Harvey dinerstein, and others like them.. they did this in the 60's! They trained a second generation like Steven assael, Jacob Collins who in turn are training the 20 and 30 something.. generation.. of representational artist... young Americans in the late 1880s whent to Paris and brought it back to NY, Vince Dumond, george bridgman, Frank reilly.. they kept representational art alive.. hence this present generation Will benefit from their labor and sacrifice...

Great video Cesar! Can you explain another day the evolution of Piet Mondrian? Because it's crazy. It seems that one day he got tired of painting and started coloring QR codes ... lol

It’s always been about realism. Impressionist bounced light off of color to illustrate their concept of what is real and Marcel Duchamp put the latrine in the gallery as conceptual realism. Why make a painting when you can have the real thing etc. etc. etc. just be careful how you approach it. Art is not illustration no matter how well it’s done. Art is not graphic design.
