Melhor usar um dimmer para reduzir a potência do aparelho, sem o resistor a potência aumenta em demasia, melhor colocar um dispositivo atrelado ao ferro de solda dá para ter o controle de temperatura facilmente

Because too strong & no control to temp. on origins...but 1/2 reducing power is ok.
