How to Create Email Templates in Gmail

Want to create email templates on Gmail? Also known as canned responses, Gmail makes it simple to create email templates for frequently used emails, so you don't have to type out a new email every single time.

You will have to set this up inside settings first.

1. Go to Gmail settings (gear icon)
2. Go to the advanced tab
3. Click enable under Templates
4. Click save changes

Now that the option is turned on, you can draft an email and save that email with the subject line as a template.

Hi, good tutorial - very clearly explained thank you. A few points to consider: 1. You don't have to select the text at the end to create the template. 2. if you have a signature setup for your emails. remove it before you save the template or you will end up with double signatures. 3. Email attachments are not saved in the template. You will have to make sure to attach any files you want to send with the template each time you use it. many thanks!
