I used this method to get myself to organise my life. It always seemed supper hard to even begin sorting the amount of stuff that I accumulated over the years. And being super bored and not allowed to do anything except the stuff I had to. It worked like a miracle. I layed on the floor for hours until I finally started doing one small step at a time. I recommend this very strongly to anyone who wants to start their own thing but just can't get themselves to move in that direction or get overwhelmed fast.

I asked this while I'm watching this: What about if the thing we need to do is giving too much stress and we wanna get our soul ready by chasing dopamine before we start doing the thing we need to do? If we consider doing nothing as neutral, and the things we need to do as negative for they're giving stress. Would we choose the negative instead of neutral? The answer is yes. Because after I asked these, I remember a scientific experiment. They put the subjects into different rooms where there's literally nothing else but a button which gives electrifying feeling that hurts the one. When the attendees first pushed that button, because they got hurt, they didn't touch again for sometime. But then, boredom becomes so strong that, they pushed the button again and again. You can also think this like this: When you think about afterlife, it's interesting but we instinctively want to be in hell, rather than totally destroyed and become non-existent anywhere.

Personally I always found boredom to something to avoid with even self-destructive events but I also want to become more productive. I have windows and mac. I play video games on windows and I work on mac. And I don't know if I should sell my windows to face the boredom and get the job done. The place that I live in extremely lonely and I'm totally like the guy who sailed the world alone. I don't exaggerate, I mean it. So long story but my destiny brought me here. I'm in a country that I don't know its language and culture and in very cold climate, but here's so boring that, first I developed my music production skills but unfortunately, I also got stressed of it after it started to become my real job. And then because of boredom, I started to abuse substances and binge-watching, playing video games. And I've done them so much that, I started to make music only after I get bored of all of them. And now I'm here because I got bored of all and I am looking for a new adventure, since my physical world sucks currently, at least I wanna do something mentally. So I wanna add something new into my knowledge inventory. I have full of beautiful ideas and I don't know coding. So boredom is something so powerful that, it's gonna be winner no matter how much you love to do the thing. Even the most loved lover becomes the victim of boredom. :D

But it doesn't mean boredom will stay too, it just keep changing. Maybe it's my ADHD or our human nature. But boredom takes place of everything and it requires me to change what I do constantly. Then doing what needs to be done becomes equal with doing nothing as a feeling. And that's the fucking worse. I roll a joint at that moment or play video games, preferably totally a new game or a new side of the same game.

The calmness in the video is all want, I had limited my phone usage to 20 minutes a day, but this video made me realize that since last 2 weeks I have been using it pretty much on autopilot.

Thanks Kalle!

Love the insights! Shows how the most simplest of things are overlooked. Simple and practical.

I 100% agree.
When I'm doing nothing and just chill, I'm thinking about what I could do instead. I'm not thinking about picking up my phone. Good one Kalle!

Thank you for that video!!! Really! You explained it in such a straight way. This is what I discovered several years ago by accident. By watching your video it became more clear for me why and how it works. I can totally relate to what you are saying and it makes total sense.

I really identified with all your thoughts. In the past I tried to do the same but fell back into my bad habits. This is the perfect time to start again and try to change my habits and free my mind. Thank you for your time to make a brilliant video🙌🏽🍃

Great video Kalle. I find when, I do nothing or meditate and let the mind wander it does make a difference (to an extent). However, at least in my experience, I think, that sometimes, it is easy to get derailed and not want to do a task because of the factors like, the law of diminishing returns where the more initial effort we put into something over time, the less additional grains we make. And the bell curve where progress is slow, then we get a surge, but after, it feels like, we are stagnating when we in fact, we are not. I know these concept is used in business but I read they can be applied to other areas of life.

Kalle, you conveyed your point across perfectly!

A person does not like to be bored and therefore, tries their hardest to be occupied with something (easiest would be: social media, etc ...).

But if you force yourself to do nothing, soon, you'll start either thinking about something or wanting to do something.
When you start thinking about something, that ignites your creativity.
And when you start wanting to do something, that's when you should start working.

At least, that's how I interpreted your message! 😅

That’s actually so true, because I realized that when I purposely don’t use my phone first in the morning and just do my things. I find my self 95% more productive than ever.

Boredom is a feature that creates geniuses in humans. Newton is a pure example.

I actually experienced all of the things you were saying, man. My idea was to put the phone in a place that I know (not near me) to increase productivity in my day-to-day life. I think the next stage is allowing yourself time to do all of this stuff, it was an amazing video !
