This scene is so important to illustrate why people describe it as like being in 'a washing machine'. Literally being thrown about with trees, cars, buildings, you don't stand a chance. And then people are like 'oh just swim', you're a puppet to the oceans power. It really is a miracle some people survived.

2:06 where she is floating in the water and there are other bodies floating by is just chilling and sad.

The amount of physical and mental pain a person must go through in these situations just baffles me.

This movie is really The Impossible because she still managed to survive despite her horrific ordeal.

The actor did so well in this scene I could almost feel exactly what she felt. Especially when she finally cam out of the water and got that gasp of air that she needed so badly

Her 1:30 scream just gives me chills. And the music and her reaching up at 2:35 is just perfect👌🏻

This was such a powerful scene in the movie. I remember the audience in the theater didn't even move not one bit when this scene happened.

I’ve seen a lot of disaster films but I have to say, the team that worked on this totally outdid themselves. This is bar none the best SFX work I have ever seen for a tsunami. So lifelike it is actually chilling to watch.

The sounds of things hitting her body made me cold. I’ve imagined being pushed around in water violently and even lost my breath. It’s a scary feeling but to feel sharp items and bodies float around me would terrify me.

Am i the only one who saw the elephant in the water? Crazy. Also, she probably held her breath without knowing, i mean there was so much else going on that she had to worry about while in the water, like the flying objects coming towards her or her getting cut up by branches, her main problem wasn't holding her breath anymore. And usually while distracted from the thought of holding your breath, it's easier to hold it longer because it just a natural thing to do while underwater anyway.

Seriously props to the mom. She faced bigger hell and damage than the rest of her family members, yet she didn't give up on her life. Brave woman.
I was afraid for her the most in the movie. Thought she would die.

everybody's asking "how did she survive after that giant tsunami" like the title says its impossible.

The fact that she was floating while everyone else was sinking, the fact that she was alive when everyone else was dead despite her ordeal was “Impossible.”
