She's confirmed Earth is ripe for resource extraction and is reporting to her manager on Rigel 7. Next year's John Lewis advert will feature the boy discovering the spirit of Christmas with a rat whilst hiding from his alien overlords in a storm sewer.

This whole advert shows, that again, no friendly alien that has ever crashlanded on this planet wants to stay here for a minute longer once their spaceship is repaired and also that it's a bad idea to bring your new girlfriend over for dinner on christmas-eve, because your family will most likely hate her guts.

The John Lewis advert has been in decline for a while, it was always much anticipated.. This one falls off the cliff in my opinion.

Why do the John Lewis ads feel like they’re getting worse and worse every year? I feel bad cause a lot of people probably put in effort to make this ad but it just doesn’t have that Christmas spark anymore
