let's chat about this life update... I quit my job without another job lined up. I would've never imagined doing this a few years ago, but in this video, we dive into my experiences with working in corporate, burnout, how I basically became a workaholic - and how it all led me to this decision

At 27, after working for 6 years and doing really well in the field I decided to quit when I realised that I had attached my self worth with my job. Kudos to you girl, I know it takes a lot of courage to do that!

This video resonates. I’m 29 & I have a few creative side projects going. I’m in the process of creating a plan to quit my 9-5. Life is too short to live unhappy. Thank you for sharing your journey ☺️

Literally just now learning this at 45 years old. Slowly starting a side hustle that I plan to transition into full-time soon.

All the best in the next chapter of your life! I think I'm a few years older than you, but I admire so much that our generation knows when to take a breather for ourselves, and are finding more meaningful ways to live our lives than just working a prestigious job and being recognized for it. A job is a means to our livelihood, but it's not always what makes us feel alive. Who we are outside of work, our passions, interests, and what brings us joy should be just as important. Good for you, Celine! Take care 💕

I can definitely relate to this. I feel very burnt out & anxious working in the corporate world. Would love to be able to quit one day and do something I love

Celine, thank you for sharing and your experience resonates with me. My parents came to Canada for a better life when they fled Vietnam. I was taught to express gratitude for the little things such as being able to have nutritious food readily available, a roof over my head, and an opportunity to make a living. I brainwashed myself because of these fundamentals. "There are other people out there who are going through worse" is what I would tell myself so I continued to work to move up the corporate ladder. I left corporate in June due to burnout (e.g. waking up in the middle night, cold sweats, brain fog, etc.) There is more to life than work, and money although money does make it easier. I believe a degree of pain or suffering allows us to appreciate what we have and be decisive when faced with adversity.

I can relate so much to this video since I too have worked since I was 16 and I’m 23 now and recently quit my job to focus on my mental and physical wellbeing. I started a YouTube channel to document my journey both the good parts of it and the bad parts of it. I wouldn’t change a thing about my decision because these companies don’t really care about us and if we wear ourselves out working for them then they will just replace us once we’re gone but life is too short to allow a job to beat us down. If you don’t look out for yourself in this world then no one else will so you have to make decisions that are the best for you

I’m happy you were able to quit your job to start to live your dream life! I’ve been working since I was 14/15 and I’m 33 now I just can’t imagine working for the next 32 years :/

Wonderful update. I feel fortunate coming upon your channel not that long ago, and watching you pretty much waking up. I'm loving your observations, looking forward to your "postcards" from this new life you're traveling in. No, it's not that I'm further down "the road" than you but I had this same realization many decades ago, that "living to work" was pretty intoxicating stuff and hard to shake off. Our society's designed around it -- You won't win the rewards if you don't play their game. For me, the key was staying awake and learning more about what was deeply important to me. I'm sending you long, strong hugs and smiles -- you're doing the right thing, no matter how hard it gets.

I respect that you took the leap of faith and quit without a new job in place. I have used this approach many many times and I honestly feel that it allows you to really think and process what you want next in life. Good video!

This resonates a lot with me, I recently quit an 11 year job that was super demanding working everyday and weekends while barely making space for other things in my life. Thanks for sharing your story 🙏

thank you so much for this video. I resonate a lot with the feelings of burnout that you were experiencing in my own job, as well as the questioning of this whole "default" path to success of climbing the corporate ladder. it's nice to see that others are on a similar path to finding something more meaningful and suited to them. congratulations on entering this new chapter and I'm excited to see what's in store for you next! also hi from a fellow toronto creator 😊💕

Thanks for posting this. I’m a few years older than you, in Marketing and am going through a similar situation plus a terribly toxic environment. Today’s my day! I’m quitting, redefining success for me and taking control of my life.
