MAN, that was a kick ass year for movies!! I worked in theaters at that time in high school...I got to see all of these multiple times on the big screen, it was an epic time for film!!

K. Bigelow is one of the most underrated Directors out there - amazing Filmographie. Boody is Swayze's best Role and Point Break is one of the best Action-Movies ever.

One of my all-time favorites movies. A fairly simple plot, but done so well and you can tell everyone really brought it effort wise for this movie. Swayze was the first daredevil actor, actually dropping out of the plane on film. This movie really changed the course of Keanu's career, he was shockingly convincing as a bad ass cop.

Which may not be a surprise now, but it was his first action flick and he killed it. I believe it's probably what got him the role in Speed.

"Utah, get me 2." This is my all time favourite Keanu Reeves action movie and the one that director Kathryn Bigelow launched as an action movie star. Without it we wouldn't have Speed, The Matrix or John Wick franchise. The foot 👣 chase is the greatest ever filmed on a pre-CGI era. It influenced a bunch of imitators including the first Fast and Furious movie but can never be equalled for sheer spectacle & thrills.

I like to watch Point Break, Speed, and Street Kings as a trilogy. Keanu starts as FBI, then gets fired or leaves. Becomes a SWAT member. Those "pop quiz hot shot" lines make more sense now. Again he's either let go or leaves. Finally, we see him as a street cop still saving the day.

My other favorite non-canonical trilogy is Leon, Point of No Return (or Nikita), and A Long Kiss Goodnight. Also, there is Die Hard and Hostage, but I don't have a third for that one.
