Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show I'm your host Paul aka the guy whos not backwards in coming forward and tomorrow I'll make the Tenet Video that you're watching right now.

Since August I've done a tonne of videos on the movie and I've compiled the most asked questions to clear up any confusion over the film. This includes why the future version of the Protagonist shot at himself, what the Algorithm is, why Kat didn't need a mask on the boat and a lot lot more

If this is your first time here then please click the thumbs down button and make sure you unsubscribe from the channel to never see a video.

With that out the way, thank you for clicking this, now let's get into the breakdown.

Ok so Tenet opens with an Opera scene that pretty much throws you into the movie at the deepend. But what exactly is going on here?

Well on the surface it seems like The Protagonist is part of a CIA operation to infiltrate the Opera during a siege so that he can secure the algorithm. This fails and instead he's drafted into the TENET organisation after being double crossed, having his teeth pulled out and also choking down on what he believes is a cyanide pill.

Sounds like my kinda night at the Opera.

But what exactly was going on here, well The Protagonist was actually given this intel by the future version of himself and this was so that he could not only ensure that he handed the Algorithm over to Sator but also make it so that he not only met Neil, but also showed he was willing to lay his life on the line.

Before the finale we learn from Ives that the splinter team mission is meant to be one that nobody returns from. Ives even says that they can't afford having anyone left alive who knows what the algorithm is and the fact that the protagonist takes the pill shows that he's willing to lay down everything if needs be.

Now why the future version made sure that Sator got a piece of the algorithm is hinted at by Priya who refuses to change telling his past version about where the algorithm is.

Do try and keep up.

She says that they actually need Sator to bring all of the pieces together so that they can then snatch them and then split them up. The entire point of the finale is to trick Sator into believing that his mission in burying the Algorithm is successful so that his future version won't change anything and will continue collecting the pieces in order to bring them together and carry out the plan that will allow the algorithm to be stolen.

I don't know how many times I've said "I finally get it" and then got confused again

I think Nolan is a mad man for even coming up this whole concept. I would've loved to be in the room where Nolan explains it to everyone lol

I recently got a hold of Chris Nolan and asked him these questions. He just kept repeating himself. "Let me go" . "Get off me" "who are you?". I think it relates to the protagonist having to let go of someone he doesn't know yet

I can’t wrap my head around how Nolan wrapped his head around this. It’s one thing to understand a specific concept intuitively, but to create a coherent story is mad

Nolan's making a trilogy, and we've just seen the final film from it.

Tenet has most people's minds going backwards. Inception was relatively more understandable

I walked out of my room backwards to confuse my mom.

It didn't even occur to me that Protagonist is still in the windmills when the ship passes it by; I knew it was a callback, but I didn't realize it was a full-on revisit.

Nolan: Yes.
Audience: Sooo, how badly do you plan to mess with our brains in 'Tenet'?

Also after reading the script.... the reason that the inverted protagonist was shooting at the window was also to kill time... as he is waiting to see himself run backwards into the turnstyle so he can continue going through. You see him look over into the window a few times during that scene. Remember, if you dont see yourself exit the turnstyle you dont go in.

I've always got the impression that TENET's philosophy on fate is, "If you don't know the outcome, you can change it" or that if you feel as though life is pre-destined, you feel less likely to take the necessary actions to change the world.

This is why Tenet keeps its agents ignorant of the future - they may be less likely to take their own initiative.

I've never been as bamboozled by a movie, like I was with Tenet. I like it when movies take a risk, but even this movie was beyond my reach. I've seen the movie twice, I've watched some of these explanations, and I believe that only a very few can watch the movie just once and understand everything.

Imagine we get a sequel set (blank) years in the future, and the Protagonist is played by Denzel Washington
