The big missing piece here is that it must be made clear to beginners that F1 cars are not identical. There is a ruleset that defines limits on how the cars are designed, but within those rules each team is required to design their own car. This makes F1 an engineering competition as much as a driving one.

Missing out on DRS was a big mistake as that's very often mentioned in the broadcast. The separate Constructor's and Driver's championships also needed a more direct mention. And the extra point for fastest lap, while it was there visually, wasn't mentioned by the narrator, so newcomers are likely to miss it.

Another oversight was that the fact that the bottom 5 drivers are eliminated in Q1 and 2 wasn't mentioned. Sure, it was mentioned that it was a 3 round knockout qualifying, but newcomers aren't guaranteed to understand what that means.

Frankly this is brilliant. F1 has a history of elitism towards the fans. They have some of the most knowledgeable fans in the world. And they do cater to that. But pulling in more casual fans with the Netflix show really showed a need for something simple like this. Bravo F1.

I love it that in the clip from 1:52 to 1:54 you can see 4 Ferraris, two purple Red Bulls and the white RB from Turkey 2021. Also there is still Ricciardo instead of Piastri in the entire video

A great addition to the explanation would be DRS/ERS and the flags of course…new fans often tend to get confused about the flags and maybe the schedules like weekend races, how many races in a year, summer break etc.
