It's so interesting because the LN2 step can be carried out at any time. You can actually improve cheap hardened steel drill bits that you buy off the shelf by cooling them in LN2 before using them. The grain structure changes that the extreme cooling produces have no time constraint following the extreme heating and quenching to ambient temp process. I think the channel is called Applied Science which did a video on this. Fascinating.

I have no experience, but I've heard that issues with blade warping can come from cooling the blade in horizontal aluminium blocks, as the blade touches the bottom piece of aluminium first, which makes the two sides of the blade cool at different rates.
