I'd ♥ to see Microsoft make LTSC the "default" OS for the masses. Nothing better than a clean, lean, simplified OS. They just need to make downloads and "reasonably priced keys" available.

Just to be clear, any LTSC version won't activate if replacing a typically installed OEM version of Home or Pro edition. LTSC versions would typically be activated by some KMS server within an enterprise organisation although there seems to be offers of probably dodgy activations on-line.

Sadly, I've found both the LTSC and SAC of 24H2 to be quite buggy - so much so I went back to 23H2.
I'll try it again in six months, when a few CUs have come around to shine it up a bit.

Great video, Brian, on fantastic news 👍 - so I don't have to go Linux after all 😉 (still on a heavily clamped-down 10 and chuck too many Linux distros over the last 22 years, as they always have something wrong with them). This LTSC is definitely the only Win 11 I'd consider using! Remove Edge (a must!), install ShutUp!10 (also a must), muck about the Group Policy Editor, and finally all worries about October next year are over! The GUI still makes me gag, but that's a minor learning curve-thingy over how to keep all that AI rubbish out! I just want a computer, not a spaceship.

Any updates on any clean-ups you stumble upon more than welcome - gonna be resetting an NVMe-drive over the weekend to start getting to work.

i know you may not know the answer to this but does ltsc also boost performance by any chance as in frame rate in games or is it just not worth it for any other reason besides no bloatware of course

LTSC is designed for industrial systems where you don't want features to change for 10 years. It's not simply a de-bloated Windows. Do some research before daily-driving it.

Talking about debloat yet you are using google chrome

To get rid of a lot of bloat software and apps, just choose 'World', instead of an actual country. This you can change later. It is designed to install lots of stuff depending on where it thinks you live. But if you choose 'World' it installs fewer because it doesn't know what country you're in.

Windows 11 24h2 in general require popcnt and sse4.2 cpu instructions. So the intel core 2 duo p9700 i have in my latitide e6400 won't be supported anymore.

Windows 10 iot ltsc 21h2 is the best thing for that laptop

Make the LTSC version readily available, and I would be tempted to come back from being in the Linux world. MSFT will not allow that to happen somehow. Shame, they would get a ton of takers.

I'm using Windows 11 LTSC and Windows 10 LTSC, on my game server. Both are perfect. No Blote were.😁
