Honestly it'd be valid to use a steam deck + dock + keyboard + mouse and use that as a mini desktop setup

I have had a PC for half a year now (previously a console) and I know that is not that long but yes sometimes you have bucks but not that often I would use a laptop if it has to be movable but yes that is extremely expensive

don't forget about the painful maintenance that desktop PCs have. Work flawlessly for the first year, and then decide 'oh yeah, that front usb port on ur case, that won't specifically work with ur BLOODY MOUSE RECEIVER AND YOU TAKE APART THE ENTIRE SH**ING CASE AND PC ONLY TO FIND NOTHING IS WRONG'. And dust. And thermal paste that just randomly decides to dry up painfully to the point where ur i5 10500 idles at 75 degrees C and the fan bearing on ur cpu cooler shits the bed and sounds like a fucking fork scraping across a plate at 2500rpm and ur SODDING HDD SHITS THE BED TOO CREATING EARPIERCING NOISES. Totally not from experience.

The steam deck isn't a great idea for a lot of people, a lot of games just aren't playable on it
