I haved in the Philippines for 9 years full time, my SS is direct deposited into my Philippines bank with no problem. We even have a SS office here at the US embassy to help with anything you need.
I have never been back to the US and have no plans to do so.

I have been living in Dominican Republic for the last 10 years & never had a problem with my SSDI payment.

All you have to is register in the embassy & they will foward your benefits to whatever a bank of your choosing

if you collect SSDI and live abroad and become a resident which provides public universal healthcare, will they deny you or require you to buy private insurance because of your "poor" health condition/disablity per say? Don't some countries need a clean bill of health from US Doctor before moving there?

Do you have any resources for Best Case Practices for an individual currently receiving SSD (Not SSI) living in the U.S. and planning on at least part time living in one of the friendly nations? I'm looking at Ecuador and Colombia. Medical treatment would of course continue, however what does a disabled Expat do if the nation doesn't have a postal system? I currently receive payments via Direct deposit in a US bank, and I'd plan to keep this going. One of the things I'm trying to figure out is if any of the Permanent Legal Address services will be fully recognized by the administration (S.S.).
