This guy has so much on his plate: bejing corn, whooping failures, being haunted, and searching his sons room

“The unfairness delivers extra emotional damage. Very effective.”

Truer words have never been spoken…regarding parenting advice to guarantee the motivational response you want to see in your child.
Quick, effective, guaranteed results, providing additional bonus time for the parent to be more productive, or if the parent is not Asian, to be used as “me time”.

This is GOLD.

I showed this to my Asian friend who was born and raised in Indonesia. He was cracking up. He said it's a perfect representation of Asian parents and he said the slipper is 'the ultimate weapon of Asian parents' 😂😂

The accuracy of “I never look” is unbelievably relatable

Kid: *gets 99%

Asian Parents: "So you have chosen physical and psychological damage"

The 99% is so accurate. When I was in elementary school, the highest you can get on the citywide exam is 99%, meaning you scored in the top 1% (higher than 99%) of the students. That was really something to try to explain to my parents.

Growing up I had a lot of Asian friends and we would always joke about how strict our parents were(I’m black) but I always felt I had it a bit easier because of the grades part. My dad was cool with me getting a B.
I’ll also never forget the day my mom made me pick out the stick to get whipped, real life emotional damage.

You see when I was 10 I once thought I dodged the slipper, only to be reminded that they come in pairs, truly a genius design

my favorite line: "the unfairness delivers extra emotional damage, very effective"

I remember one time I made my dad mad and tried to run away so he wouldn't catch me. In the blink of an eye he took a broom and threw it like a spear towards my legs, causing me to trip and fall. it totally felt like being hunted

Oh man, the "hold this pillow" punishment brings back memories. So similar to the "heaviest sheet of paper in the world" punishment, where someone has to hold a sheet of paper with both hands and with both arms extended straight out. That sheet of paper will get heavy very quickly.

The greatest slipper action I’d ever seen from my mom was when she threw a single slipper that managed to hit both my brother and me

I really like how it's basically like a documentary on how to punish your kids

"The big sticks are just sticks the smaller sticks are whips" This got me and my sister laughing so hard

The worst my parents ever did was the lectures/rants. Hours upon hours of just having to sit there. I used to think getting a stick was the worst, but when they transitioned to lectures, I missed the stick.

"Hello, I am a professional Asian Dad. I specialize in failure management."

I am EasternEuropean and this is so relative to my upbringing and the upbringing of many of my friends and counsins. The emotional damage and failure is still with me even as I have passed 50.

Steven never heard of a switch. My grandmother had a weeping willow in her front lawn next to the swing set. Heaven and hell in one place.
