Perfect timing on my way to building one soon. I saw you placed the Motherboard on top of the box. Can I also use the conductive bag to place it on the bottom of the motherboard? Or is it unnecessary?

Bought to build my second pc and this vids a great refresher. I did accidentally place my whole hand on the back of the motherboard when I took it out to install the cpu. but I had grounded myself earlier so I think I should be fine. Will find out by next week 😅

I don't know if I would get a response but if the only floor surface I have is carpet, would wearing shoes be a viable option to reduce the electrostatic charge build up?

Didn't know the capacitors were that fragile, cool

Clear and concise.
Even experienced technicians seem to overlook these simple measures.

This video serves as a great refresh. Thanks.

Love that you still respond to comments! When it comes to laptop chargers, will any laptop charger work? If you plug the wrist strap to a plugged in charger on the metal end, as you showed in the video?

I dont have an area to put my pc while I build it, is it ok to put it on my bed while I sit on a chair? Pretty much use the bed as a table.

Is it still ok to have ur hand on the case to prevent esd when the motherboard is in the case?

do rubber gloves work to prevent damaging your components?

I have that same exact motherboard 11 years later, looking at upgrading the case, RGB fans, power supply and getting a AIO CPU cooler. Then when ready will upgrade motherboard, CPU, GFX, memory and hard drives at a later date.

I was holding the motherboard in its anti shock bag and i think while attempting to hold it i might have added pressure (towards the board) to the capacitor (in the bag), I haven’t tried installing yet but it looks fine, we’ll see

its always been a question in my mind. Ive seen people use these black gloves and ive no idea what they called but they use it while building a PC. you think thats safe if you cant be asked to use one of those wires? great video btw

Sir I have a question....doesn't discharging the pc do the work? Remove everything thats plugged in the pc, keyboard, mouse, video cable, and power cable....then click and hold the power button for 30 seconds....doesn't that remove the excess electric left?
