Cruise deserved an Oscar for his role as Lestat. He truly was the life of the party and the film. It may have a been a bit overly theatrical, but I'll be damned if he wasn't entertaining to watch.

Love him or hate him, Tom Cruise is a fantastic actor.

Love how he's just playing the piano. Most would be so consumed with rage that they'd just go and try to kill the one who wrong him. But Lestat? Well, he's always been on for dramtics.

I simply do not understand how this movie didn't reach critical acclaim. This movie is an absolute masterpiece. Also, I don't understand how people can call Tom Cruise a bad actor, I think he's a brilliant actor.

Scary thing about Tom Cruise, he's aging so damn well that they could pretend queen of the damned never happen, pick up right where this movie left off and you'd be hard pressed to tell the time difference. Same with Brad Pitt.

The first thing Lestat does when he comes back after having his throat slit and being dumped in a river full of alligators is play the piano cause he's OCD like that.

"Claudia, you've been a very, very naughty little girl." Love that line.

Lestat: Listen, Louis. There's life in these old hands still. Not quite Furioso. Moderato? Cantabile, perhaps.
Claudia: How could it be?
Lestat: Ask the alligator. His blood helped. Then on a diet of the blood of snakes, toads, and all the putrid life of the Mississippi, slowly, Lestat became something like himself again. Claudia... You've been a very, very, naughty little girl.

The sudden piano, the sonata choice, the setting, the slow reveal of the curtains... just master filmmaking

This scared the living daylights out of me as a child, but rewatching this in my thirties, I can appreciate the sheer commitment Tom Cruise had for Lestat.

Haydn Sonata in E Flat minor! (Albeit much slower.) This is the piece that got me into Chopin way back in the day.

"How could it be?"

"Ask the alligator." He is so dramatic. I can't.😂

Love how epic the curtain is, how it slowly falls away during his monologue. Favorite scene from this movie.

Such a great scene, from an underrated film.

Lestat was ruthless enough as his normal rejuvenated charismatic self, but a barely living rotting Lestat is just terrifying.

Tom nailed it as Lestat. Also I fully agree with the portrayal of the vampires in this movie. Twisted, Apathetic, Jaded, Perverted. That is realistically how one would be after hundreds of years of life (unlife) of an old vampire. Not the 90210 crowd of silly vampires in tv shows and some movies like Twilight. Worrying about a girlfriend in some high school, or little town trifle dramas, and otherwise living out some teenage lifestyle. These are ancient beings, dulled by death and time, weary of the monotonous human experiences. Even if they are no longer one.
Best vampire movie by far.
