Check out the new Interview With the Vampire Season 1 Trailer starring Sam Reid!

US Air Date: October 2, 2022
Starring: Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Bailey Bass
Network: AMC
Synopsis: A sensuous, contemporary reinvention of Anne Rice’s revolutionary gothic novel, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire follows Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia’s (Bailey Bass) epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). Chafing at the limitations of life as a Black man in 1900s New Orleans, Louis finds it impossible to resist the rakish Lestat de Lioncourt’s offer of the ultimate escape: joining him as his vampire companion. But Louis’s intoxicating new powers come with a violent price, and the introduction of Lestat’s newest fledgling, the child vampire Claudia, soon sets them on a decades-long path of revenge and atonement.

“Evil is always possible. And goodness is eternally difficult.” Anne Rice

I get the impression that most people know this despite protests otherwise, but Lestat and Louis were a couple in the books - their first kiss was in The Vampire Lestat and in Realms of Atlantis (after several ups and downs admittedly) they're basically married. Anne Rice planned out a whole wedding for them online. It's definitely not something the show invented.

This trailer actually has a scene that is fairly similar to Blood Communion (where they're dancing together in the fancy costumes). The film was great and I personally love it, but it never got to the point where it was able to truly show Louis and Lestat's messy relationship as a romance. The books will still be there and so will the film, I'm excited to see what the show is going to do!

To People complaining about their romance haven't you seen the movie they act like a bickering married couple all the time it's very obvious that they are in love with each other

this reminds me of the endscene of the movie, where daniel malloy asked louis to make him a vampire too and louis was just like "really? that's all you got from my story?"

I'm so happy for Jacob Anderson. I've been saying for awhile he deserves a chance to lead up a show. I really hope he gets to show the talent he has.

My one disappointment is their not doing what Ann Rice had hoped Would happen. And that is if I understood her Facebook live conversation correctly, she wanted to start the story where it chronologically began and that was with Lestat when he was first turned and then from there on out follow the series of events in their chronological order.

I was not expecting much from this and I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Some of the changes are big but they make a lot of sense and also add a lot to the conflict.
The performances are amazing. Sam Reid embodies Lestat in a way that rivals Tom Cruise, and Jacob Anderson creates a very unique but interesting Louis. Daniel and Claudia were fleshed out in very fresh and compelling ways.
The production is exquisite, from set design to makeup, wardrobe, music, VFX, everything.

I just want this series to last long enough for them to do The Vampire Lestat.

Why Louis character is played by black actor? He was a plantation owner in 1791, he couldn’t be black…
I really don’t understand what is happening. In the books there where a lot of black characters (Akasha and her husband).

Love the scene of them walking full of blood. I've read 6 of the books and counting which means a felt worried for all the changes but it also happened with House of the Dragon and is fantastic, so im excited about this one now too.

My question is: why was Claudia aged up so much? The whole tragedy of her existence as a vampire was that she would forever be trapped in the body of a nearly defenseless child.

The interpretation of her books is impeccable. The love story between the two men is beautiful and dangerous and pulling me in wanting more. I cannot wait for next season. The two main character’s chemistry is palpable. Look at how Lestat looks at Louie. Love and hunger and danger. All the magic of life.

That trailer was vastly better than the previous ones. It might have honestly made me want to watch it.

Had I not read the book or seen the movie adaptation, I would be immensely intrigued. I think this will be a good series but I will constantly compare it to the book and the movie.

Why not adapt "Queen of the Damned" instead? It's a great novel that had a pretty mid full feature adaptation, unlike "Interview With the Vampire", and has plenty of well-written original POC characters.

I've been wanting a new version of this to cleanse the aftertaste of Tom and Brad. Unfortunately, Tom and Brad's version was closer to the books. Why do directors/producers see that fans love a story but insist on changing it from what we grew to love into something that they hope will help them make their mark. Louis was not black, and he was not a party animal. He was tall, very introverted and read a lot of books. It was the fact that he was so different from Lestat that drew Lestat to him. And that makeup makes the Lestat actor look far older than the early twenties he was written to be. If it's good, really good, I can forgive the sin of sucking the life out of some of my favorite books.

The vampire was utterly white and smooth, as if he were sculpted from bleached bone, and his face was as seemingly inanimate as a statue, except for two brilliant green eyes that looked down at the boy intently like flames in a skull. But then the vampire smiled almost wistfully, and the smooth white substance of his face moved with the infinitely flexible but minimal lines of a cartoon. “Do you see?” he asked softly.
