Yeah, this guy is wrong. We have plenty of evidence that pole reversals are common and occur on a regular timeline of about 6, 000 years. We have no evidence suggesting they DON'T cause effects to the Earth which could in turn affect life and some evidence to suggest such effect are possible and have happened. We know that any animal that uses the magnetic fields of the Earth are affect, especially those that use them for migration. And the speed at which the poles are reversing has sped up in recent decades but do not take thousands or millions of years. That's just absurd. The rate of the reversal will steadily increase and it completes the process very rapidly, like within days. That's just how magnetism works. It's not like the poles are traveling a long distance by foot. Also, he's VERY wrong about the rate of weakening of our magnetosphere. Previously it was weakening very slowly but has jumped quite a bit in the last 2 decades, corresponding with the increase movement of the magnetic poles. These changes are likely influence by the Sun's own cycles, which we know little about, but are likely a combination of our planetary core having cycles that we don't understand. We don't even know what causes our magnetosphere to exist. So the idea that everything is fine and that there's nothing to see here is complete bunk. At a MINIMUM, we stand an almost guaranteed likelihood of our electric grips being totally destroyed because of how vulnerable they are. And I mean planet-wide. A combination of weakening magnetosphere protection and the Sun's solar cycle producing highly active solar storms makes this a guarantee in the next 20 years. We are currently at a solar maximum, which has an 11 year cycle. But there's a larger solar cycle that will culminate during the next solar maximum, which will cause even greater solar storms than we are currently seeing. And in another 11 years, our magnetosphere will be significantly weaker. So if we survive that, it'll be by dumb luck that the storms miss us.
