when do "minimum state requirements" comes at play?, What if I was driving a 85 civic insured with the very minimum required by state law and I hit a 2019 Mercedes?? It hasn't happened but what if..

So, just so I understand your point of view, you would chose to cover yourself at your states minimum because you feel this coverage is a rip off due to these cases where statutes apply? So if someone else comes and hit's you and is grossly under or uninsured carrying high limits on your policy like 100/300 or 250/500 is not necessary to you? If you sustain x amount over the at fault parties insurance will your policy choose to not cover you? Just want to make sure I understand you correctly here.

Are formulas that take medical expenses and multiplier by sum number 2x, 3x ...ect depending on severity a bogus way to predict value? I see this algorithm approach all
over the web, but then there are multiple sites that claim there is no such thing as a formula.

I rear-ended a vehicle and caused $1, 191.44 in damages to the rear bumper. I was not insured. If they received compensation for the damages from their own uninsured coverage from their own insurance company can I be held liable to pay the $1, 191.44 in a claim in small claims court as well? What's your opinion on UNinsured motorist (not underinsured)--where you are basically paying for protection from people (slackers)who don't have insurance at all yet are driving anyway, illegally? Buy it anyway then sue? Then the slackers will still be out there driving and you still pay for it.
