On Saturdays, I perform a back workout with an amateur bodybuilder who does a ton of volume. It takes me several naps and roughly 48 hours to recover, and feel less fatigue, but I'm seeing substantial growth. I work out with my 17-year-old son 2-3 times a week as well, and we go to failure here and there, but definitely less intensity.

I'm hoping to hear that one grueling workout per week is ok. I'm age 41, 5'11", 185lbs, and 20-25% body fat.

So if your tired you’ll feel tired. But if you’re not tired then you won’t be tired. Also, if your at the gym when your normally in bed asleep, then you may feel sleepy. If you’ve broken up with your girlfriend and are heartbroken and day-drinking heavily and using recreational drugs to mask and numb the pain and given up at work because nothing matters anymore… you may feel naturally sleepy.
